depending on if i get my own appatment i would buy an aw11 (if i dont get an appartment) so i have been thinking about it lately.
which is better car the NA or the 4agze engine ? which is more fun ? what is the weight difference ? does supercharged car have bigger breaks or better suspension ? i know they use a 4x100 stud pattern so my rims wont fit... is it common to find 14/15 by 7 or 8 in the studpattern ? what offsetts are normally run on mr2 ?? are parts rare (like ae86) ??? .........lol sorry about all the questions, they might be n00by but yah im thinking about aw11 so need to know.
MR22ZZ

Whats more fun is buying the apartment, paying off the mortgage, then using the equity to purchase a car down the track.

That way you have lower interest payments + better car, while everyone else has higher interest payments (as they bought later) + a crapper car (purely because they cant afford a better card due to their higher interest repayments as they had to borrowing more). biggrin.gif

That's what I did. biggrin.gif

Ahh, my friend just took me for a spin in his Soarer twin turbo.... He scared the bejesus out of me ohmy.gif with all the power and wheel spin. My AW11 will end up with more kw and a much lighter body. Soon I'll be able to repay the fear factor. cool.gif
MR_ken
MR layout for the win.
aw11 WILL be my next car for sure. it has its advantages
MR_ken
the advantage of buying an Mr2 (aw11) is that i can put my tuned smallport 4age from the ae86 in when im finished with the ae86.. shouldnt be too hard i would think.

NA is best biggrin.gif
MR22ZZ
Oh I have bigger plans then that... much bigger plans...

And there's a pretty nice AW11 with a 20V conversion for sale in Vic at the moment. That would be pretty fun.
MR_ken
yah i saw that O_O looks great its just bad timing at the moment sad.gif
20v are overrated tho. worked 16v for the win wink.gif

Been in my friends 4agze with smaller pulley attached...........its crazy, and the way that thing goes around a corner is nuts...If I tried that in my sportivo i would of understeered into a house.

He was in the process of putting a turbo on, sorced all the parts.......but then decided to 'settle' down and go after a skyline.....lol
MR_ken
SUKAIRAIN !!! NOOOOO !!!
stick with a balanced car like aw11

MR_ken
congrats on buying a GREAT and balanced car. best of luck with it.
is it SC or NA ? with either one you should be owning skylines and other cars.. *thumbsup* (hey how do i make the thumbs up picture btw ??) lol
Suprathai
Well he did manage to keep up with a s15 with 200kw atw half the time.....I don't know much about the pulley though. Try Toymods
MR_ken
faster entry speeds ? or was the power to weight ?
hope it was faster entry speeds tongue.gif
Suprathai
Faster Entry I think. His car had much better traction going around corners and all. In terms of power to weight, I'm pretty sure the s15 would have him. But the instant boost and lower loss through the Mid engine layout sure helps a lot

Hey im thinking of buying a midnight Blue MR2 (AW11) with a 20v (silver) in it. Conversion is very clean, mostly stock other than that. Mechanically its almost perfect (despite a wheel bearing which the current owner is fixing). Problem is that the front bumper is a bit banged up and the right rear quater has a dint and scrape too. Any suggestions? Worth fixing? He wants 4.5k but i reckon i can get 4k out of him (theres no roady/rego). He was planning to race it and put in a 13B bridgeport LOL what a nut case!!
MR_ken
easily worth the money!!! ...

buy it...... and i trade you light tuned smallport ae86 in perfect condition biggrin.gif

..... but u gotta make cash adjustment tho ^__^

keke
MR_ken

hey guys
just spotted this topic. I'm suprathai's mate that used to have a aw11 and now driving a skyline. I thought i might just give you an insight into what i have to know about the aw11. The aw11 that i had was a super edition model which were only 200 ever made. it came with factory recaro seats and momo steering wheel from factory. The trim on the seats matched the doors so it wasn't a after market fit. It also had reflective t tops which had a siver look to it while out side and it also had climate control with side mirrors that fold in. Performance wise is pretty damn impressive and would own my skyline anyday of the week. Take off wise would leave many cars for dead untill third gear, this is when other cars start to catch up and supercharger runs out of puff. cornering wise can some times be insane. with trd 22mm front and 19mm rear sway bars this think hugged corners pretty good. Engine wise i modded it with a nevo crank pulley, can't remember the size but its the biggest one you can get, boost rose from like 8psi to 12.5 psi, instant power all the time. Price wise i bought the car luckily for 7g not knowing how special the car was and sold it for 9200 last may 2007.
ALso i was going to turbo it, i had a jdm s15 turbo, carls crawford dump pipe and manifold, i also got my exhaust shop to make up a jig for it so i don't think it would be a problem for him to make up anothe turbo manifold.
all i can say is that the aw11 was a beaut to drive and performed damn well on the road too, i regreat letting the car go but oh well.
here are some pics i have of the aw11 i used to own so enjoy

MR_ken
a very nice aw11.

actually i am thinking of in the future buying an aw11 or moving overseas.

its either one or the other, because an aw11 is no use to me if i were to move lol !
MR_ken
lol so i bought one.... stock it outhandled my light tuned trueno.

now i installed new suspensions, LSD gearbox and some other upgrades.... its a far better car...

FR layout feels pathetic in comparison to an MR, they just crabwalk everywhere.
