G'day everyone,
I have a '93 paseo I've just bought. The right hand indicator in the dashboard is out, still hear the ticking noise and the indicators outside still work, so it must be the bulb in the dashboard. Have had a go at removing the dashboard but couldn't do it. Removed all screws, got the black front plastic bit out, unscrewed the instrument panel and it's loose but won't come out far enough to access behind it. It feels like it's being held in place by wires etc.
Has anyone ever attempted this and can you give me any tips?
Thanks.

hey there
i've been trying to remove my dash instrument panel as well to replace some of the blown bulbs to new blue leds
i'm pretty much stuck were you are
got the plastic trim removed and cluster unscrewed, can pull the thing towards me
i know there are cables at the back, speedo and electrical cables but can't unclip them
i've read off this forum, just need patience when removing it
http://www.tercelreference.com/articles/5t...uster_swap.htmli'll probably give it a try when i have time
hope that helps you in some way, if u manage to undo the clips let me know how u did it

Fortunately, I took my dash cluster out a month or so ago to change my bulbs over to white LED's. Go into your engine bay, look for the cable that runs down to your gearbox - it should be located just right of centre, closeish to the firewall.. From memory, I just unscrewed the sheath. Once you've taken this off, you can feed a bit of that cable back into the cabin to get more length on the dash cluster.
There are three plugs you need to remove, two at the top and one on the left (this is all from memory here, forgive me if my details are slightly wrong). Once you've removed them, remove the tacho cable. You need to drop your steering wheel and do a bit of maneuvering to get the cluster out.

Yes, i have also tried to do this... mine was to try and install green globes..
had the same trouble of getting it all unscrewed and then encountering those damn wire clusters
i just couldnt get around the dash enough to unclip them
but i am going to try after feeding them through the firewall like you said to
hopefully that works

i've done as "the_random_hero" said
unscrewing the speedo cable and feeding it through the firewall
doing that helped a great deal, was easier to unclip the 3 connectors
left, middle & right are attached together
just press the tab down and wiggle it off doesnt require alot of effort
only hard part is to get ur hand behind it
i also attached an image before and after of the dash
doesnt look too bad, alot better then the dull green glow

just undid a few screws, was fair easy once i figured out that the speedo cable just unclips

hardest part was taking it out without going to the effort of taking off the steering wheel

i attached pic of what if looks like if anyones wants to look.
