ASG14
I can see it being called the Scion aE here int he US. I like it!
spillige
nice specs, but its a prity ugly looking car, very awkward front end with no real defined styling cues or character.
ToyotaFreak
I actually like this. Can't wait for the production version.

Btw, here's a virtual driving footage of the FT-86. If only I have a PS3 & Japanese copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. wink.gif

QUOTE
That didn't take long. Hot on the heels of the Toyota FT-86 Concept's reveal, we've got videographic proof that ToMoCo's new boxer-powered 2+2 is bound for the virtual circuits of Gran Turismo 5.

Make the jump to see a darkened shot of the C-4S flat-four underhood, followed by the FT-86 romping through some European backroads, running a street circuit and then sliding sideways at Tsukuba with its predecessor and inspiration, the original Toyota AE86 Corolla.

I'm really liking the design. The interior is a bit odd at first glance, but it grows on you I think. smile.gif Bring it on! ....please tongue.gif
jps137
I like it, though from what I read in the article in drive they were saying it only came with an NA 2.0L it looks like it should have a turbo (or Lift)
1rocky
Turbo would be nice yahoo.gif
SuperDave
I like it! I:ll see what details I can find out next week wink.gif
Blind Kid Seeks
i was at a Prado day on Thursday... and they talked very breifly about the FT86. 40K and the cheif engineer wanted to develop a purists car.

2.0l NA, from Factory... no doubt there will be Turbo Kits available for this car...

due for release Mid-Late next year.....

Subaru Version will be a similar car, but AWD.... and baout 55-60k

I know you only did a copy-paste; but for the articles sake, the JDM y0 mags I flicked through say it is a D-4S. I`m going to trust them over a dark image from GT.
mick.wheelz
$40K ... sad.gif
DreadAngel
Way out of reach of the people that would want such a car hahaha =P

If it lands here, I bet it will be more than $50k, or we will get a grandma engine like the ZRE did

It is scheduled here late next year... we get the NA 2.0L Boxer and it is estimated for around 40k...

... but who knows...
Gab

Not exactly...
WRX and Civic Type R are 42k, 3 MPS and Golf Gti are also about that price.
Honda doesn't have the Integra anymore, nor does Nissan have a Silvia...

The closest 2 things I can see this being marketed against are the Hyundai Genesis Coupe (no idea when and how much) and the MX-5 - which is also 2.0L, RWD.... and well above 40k.

Teaser pic, I have tones from todays motorshow trip. It is a pretty small car, in these days where everything is getting larger, this is actually pretty tight.

I'll probably start a number of threads; My Japanese trip (and some Thai/SG photos if anyone is actually interested in them), Lexus LF-A related bits and the Motorshow itself (mmmm SLR spiteful.gif )

It's more the fact they are too lazy to cover their mouths when they cough dry.gif

That sounds really positive, but Toyota have teased us before (think TRD Aurion = waste)

I want to believe it, I really do. What an awesome Rally car it would be. But i'll believe it when I see it sad.gif
