hey guys, im pretty noob when it come to performance upgrades hence the reason why i havn't done any done to my allex!

i want to give it a little bit of power, and i heard installing a CAI or a new exhaust system is the most basic of performance upgrades.

now i'm confused on whether to install a CAI first or an exhaust system coz ive heard a few things
1) if you install CAI you will need to install exhaust system anyways
2) CAI wont allow you to notice any difference so no point having it alone

if i could just get some feedback and opinions that'll be great!

Cheers

if your going to do both doesnt matter which one you do first....
what do you mean you dont notice a difference with cai first??? ive only got a cai and no exhaust... and have had it since march-ish 09'.... you will notice something..

With CAI (pod filter) you will notice the engine sound is louder.

With exhaust you will notice the sound is louder when you press acc.

For me i will do CAI first because by adding CAI, you will notice the difference from performance (increase HP) to fuel efficience (better).

Currently i have a catback exhaust and K&N panel filter (quiter than CAI but little bit louder than stock....little bit). They works pretty good.

Hope that helps.

Well for one an exhaust system will cost more if u go for the whole shebang - but if ur only looking at loundness and just do a muffler, the gains will be minimal.

CAI will be a more affordable bang for buck mod IMO.

Obviously u wld want - headers, muffler and maybe custom piping for an exhaust system which can add up to quite a bit of coin.

agreed! i have a k&n panel filter from when i bought the car, i bought the k&n filter the next day, week later i bought CAI.. the panel is still oily, and in my garage, only had 300km on it.. sounded good when replaced with stock! i was over the moon lol

Exhaust. Stock intake is fine and probably a lot less restrictive than you think.
