hey guys
Well i got shafted by my supposed "trd contact" on getting a CAI says he can only order it from the states and its going to cost me fortune apparently, i think his full of s*** and is just too lazy to do it but as this is my first sportivo let alone a toyota i have been searching the forums and the net in general but no one actually says where they got the damn things!! I know theres trdsales but i dont want to buy it all they way from states. I dont care if its AEM or TRD as long as i can buy it here in good old Melbourne, Victoria Autralia! (sorry im still peeved at that tool). Im also looking for a good exaust shop in the eastern suburbs thinking about just getting a dual muffler like this one
http://www.xforce.com.au/mufflers/mufflers.html its the P-EX12 WHAT YA THINK?
Also why not make a sticky on all your resources, contacts, sites ETC whith sub sections on each e.g bodykits, care care, performance it might save another question like mine and other new members wasting your time as well.
Cheers

There's a parts/supplier sticky at the top of the Corolla Forum, For car care look at Inside & Out, etc it's all there.
Whether you buy it from trdsales.com or in Victoria or from MrRevhead in NZ, all the TRD CAI's come from the US and given everyone has a mark up, they will all be priced around the $500 mark. AEM will again be from the US but a little cheaper, same with Injen.
If you want cheaper, check E-bay. If members haven't purchased from trdsales.com or others, they've found theirs new or second hand on e-bay.
But unless they're a generic immitation, none are 'Cheap'. I think the lowest someone has paid is around $250 for an Injen, second hand or a New Simota.

if you want an inatke then you are going to have to shop outside Aus like IZZ-FE said, or you can wait afew weeks as there is going to be a CAI avalible for the corollas that is made here in Aus and will be cheaper then the TRD intakes, if you want an exhaust then talk to CES Racing here in brisbane (www.cesracing.com.au), so far its the ONLY system that has been able to bring the goods. i know im gonan get flamed for saying this but it had come out on top time and time again so dont bother.

i cant say too much at this stage are we are still doing R&D, Testing, but i can say they will be cheaper then the TRD intakes, they will also fit the facelift sportivos without need to modify/remove fog lights. They will come in choice of colours, if all goes to plan they will be avalible very early next year.

NZ i dont mind buying from cause i mite get it sooner, but do you know what site i could get a AEM or Injen from if i wanted to get one? About the exuast system itself would it even be a huge difference with changing the thing to say a 2.5 or 3 inch from the manifold back? I mean they alreday have 2.25 stock dont they? First things first the mufflers gotta go it looks cheap in my opinion im prob going to get that x-force one looks hot and i love the dual tips.

BTW I"M FLAMEPROOF!
CES system is 2.5" and as has been stated has the gains to match. Those that have a CES system can testify to the difference it makes to the car's performance and you have a choice of either a single tip or a choice of styles of dual tips offered. Check out the garage to see who has them fitted(too many to list) and you'll see that this system is the choice of those who are seriously chasing performance increases.
3" is way too big from the headers and will prolly kill any sort of torque that the engine produces and have no go at lower rpm. Stivo's are sensitive to backpressure and if you don't get it right then you will lose power. There are other "pipes" that people run but my opinion is that they'll make noise but not power and more noise doesn't always equal more power.
Anyway Specialised if you want a CAI pm me and I'll see what I can do price wise and time wise for you.
By the way Xoom Super A Mart has better piping on their beds for race pipes as it's already coated and is children friendly with no sharp edges

Hey there this week I had my 05 model fitted with a CES Racing system and guys I can tell you from a person who has worked in an exhaust shop previously that a system doesnt get much better than this.
1. Quality - the fit and finish is excellent
2. Expertise - this guy is a race car engineer
3. Looks - full stainless and range of tips to suit
4. Sound - a great note with none of that annoying twincam drone or rasp
5. Power - awesome gains for a highly tuned NA engine
I had mine fitted while I waited and this guy is happy to answer any questions you have. I appreciated the recommendations from others like Northy and Silverbullit from the site and recommend anyone looks at this product and CAI kit as it is available

if you are worried about your warranty then dont even open the bonnet, soon as you modify your car you need to accept that your warranty is gone, cause if you get a hard ***** dealer its as good as gone.

Only voids the warranty if they can prove the part installed, directly caused damage to the vehicle.

Not true! I am fully covered with AAMI, all my mods are disclosed and covered, so long as the parts do not make the car unroadworthy. Normally a pod filter is not acceptable, but being essentially enclosed behind the foglights they are. I also have lowered suspension and front and rear sway bars. I believe Danthuyer has many more mods that are all covered too.

insurance has nothing to do with the warranty on your car
p.s. interested in this new CAI.. but one question.. will it be cheaper than the Injen? $330 to my door may be hard to beat
