  1. Yes I was talking about the ones at Beverly Hills located outside the cinema. That is a real long stretch to target, all the way up the school? I was under the impression that it would target before the intersection. I am certain that the policemen were targeting that area in front of the school just after the crest of the hill. I saw them on two occasions each time they pulled in cars and trucks that just came over the hill. They definitely were holding handheld devices and there was another officer with the sign to stop drivers. Im not helping anyone by telling people where the highway patrol are, I am just concerned that people are getting double fines if the camera is aimed past the intersection. In fact I am training to become a police officer at this moment.
  2. Sorry, I should have specified clearer that they were doing the usual HWP speed checks, one officer would carry the sign to pull you in while the other had a radar pointing up the hill. There were also more than one squad car there on the occasions I've seen them. Also, does anyone know if the speed cameras operate at a specific point, or over a certain distance. For instance can they catch you over say a 50m distance or is it just on a certain spot? It's interesting that police are now doing this, I think this is part of the new operation "HECTIC" around that area during peak hour
  3. Hey guys, I noticed recently around the Beverly Hills area in Sydney that police are starting to have highway patrol cars on either side of the King Georges Rd intersection at Beverly Hills. They usually have a HWP car just over the hill and also one just below it so you wont see them until after your speed has been checked. In this area there is also a speed camera further down which im not sure where it will catch your speed, but it appears to point at the intersection also (if anyone can clarify this would be helpful). So if you were speeding down that stretch will you be given an infringement by police and then also receive one in the mail from the camera?
  4. There are no points associated with the infringement, just a fine. I copped a $84 fine for having them on by a highway patrol cop and his words were, "Unless it is foggy or ****** down with rain you aren't allowed to have them on".
  5. Actually now that you say that, I only notice it with other passengers in my car and that's the only time I run my air conditioner.. It might have something to do with the air conditioning running I noticed it 3 times on the way to work yesterday (in first or second gear at 1000rpm, using the accelerator to hold a constant speed in peak hour traffic). Two times I had the chance to turn off the A/C which, by chance or not, made the vibration go away! Check that yours is the A/C, which is probably a common trait. If you are not worried about what it is, you probably will stop noticing it! Yes, I can confirm that this definitely happens while the A/C has been running and once I turn off the A/C it will start to go away. Does anyone know the reason behind this, or should I still be talking to the Toyota service centre about it?

  7. When it does occur, it is only when the rev point is around 1000rpm and it has only happened when rolling or coming to a stop. There is no rev jump at all, I can hold the RPM on N and the pedals will vibrate the entire time it is held. I have asked passengers if they can feel/hear anything but they don't seem to notice anything, although the pedal vibration is very obvious to me
  8. Hi guys, my Aurion has just recently hit 10,000 kms and has also seemed to develop a problem around the same time. It doesn't happen all the time, although occasionally when I'm doing light acceleration or slowing down I can hear an audible change in engine tone and a can feel slight shuddering through the pedals. Originally I thought it was a brake problem because it only seemed to happen when I was slowing down or lifting my foot off the brakes, however after some experimentation I found that while the problem persisted, if i reved up to a little under the 1000 rpm mark it would recreate the problem. It seems that the change in tone and the shudder will persist while the rev range is around the 1000 mark. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I have the 15,000 km service coming up and I would like to get it rectified however due to the nature of the problem I don't think I'll be able to recreate the problem for the dealer to see.
  9. For the price the dealer offered it to me for (500$ extra for Scotch guarding) I think id rather go home and do it myself. I don't see how their product could be that much better than something you buy off the shelves. In any case, I've also been trying to find some UV protection for the dash, was looking at those Meguiars wipes, but I might just get the gold class foam. Does it apply on the door trims too because the door grips feel a bit like plastic and don't feel like the dash material at all.
  10. Sure looks like a shop. In any case the tail lights are still the last gen model, though I thought TRD was being discontinued for good? In any case, it would be great for there to be a new TRD but I'm not holding my breath..
  11. Nothing like that has happened before, although last week when I was filling it up, it clicked before it was even full. I knew there was still a few liters left so I kept going after that initial click. Once I filled up my old Camry past the click and it just spat the petrol back out and made a mess down the side of my car <_<
  12. Saw one a couple of weeks ago, must say that is quite hideous car especially the first pic
  13. I've had Lifestyle store install a headunit which was fine (bit expensive though) and I had my amp + sub installed recently at Soundmaster down at Granville. Soundmaster were cheap, installing it for about $125 I think it was, but they were clumsy too, they ended up breaking the rear seat, but it was just a $5 piece of plastic and a bent hook so I fixed that up myself, though everything else was fine but you might want to steer clear of them unless you're looking for a really cheap deal.
  14. My car is scheduled for 15,000 or 1 year intervals. In any case you would probably want to service your car that often, if not sooner. I learned the hard way through my Camry which was hardly ever driven, so it was serviced at long intervals and at 104, 000 kms (1994 model) it is suffering from all sorts of problems. Not going to let that happen again, because in the long run you're going to be paying more anyway.
  15. Welcome to the club. I'll look into it later somehow how accurate is the application. Im assuming you just log your averages in every week and it just averages out the total. I doubt it would actually tell you the car's actual fuel usage..
