  1. Yes, I have all the latest updates. Possibly the S7 protocols, aren't recognized by the 7 year old head unit!!
  2. Hi Guys, I'm having a minor problem with my Bluetooth Connectivity and a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. I have a 2009 Presara and other Samsung phones ie S2, S4 and S5, all paired with Bluetooth and all calls came in and out of the car, via the mic and speakers. Now I have a Galaxy S7 and although it will pair with my Bluetooth, when I receive an incoming call, it now rings through my phone and not the car speakers and I have to speak into the phone!! Can anyone enlighten me, on how to make the car Bluetooth answer the call and ring through the speakers.....and use the car mic, instead of the phone? Some additional software to download to the phone maybe!! Thank You.
  3. O'k thanks for the reply. That's where I have the ceramic insulator is at the moment, pointing downwards, so I will leave it there. Regards........Dixie. :)
  4. Guys, I have a General Question, about the fitting of High Beam HID Globes into the lens of my Aurion. I was wondering what is the correct way, for that long thin piece running the length of the globe, supposed to face when installed!! The globes I have installed, will in fact clip in a couple of ways, into the lens hole, but should that long bar on the globe go towards the ground, go towards the bonnet or another way, or doesn't it matter, which way it faces? The HIDs' appear to be working o'k, but is there a right and a wrong way, for the globes to seat? Does my question make sense?? I apologize if it doesn't. Regards...........Dixie.
  5. CANBUS is a distributed logic/control system (which reduces the load on the ECU as it allows components to talk to each other directly without the need for the ECU to act as a host controller). This means that along with general power transmission there is a lot of data traffic flowing all around the car, which probably generates noise in the system and causes the HIDs to flicker - normal halogen/incandescent bulbs are probably not as sensitive to fluctuations or are slower to react to it so they don't flicker visibly. My guess is the conversion kit acts as a filter to clean up the power signal to the lights, thus stopping the flicker. Your spot on the money!
  6. O'k I can now answer my own post. Stupid me didn't realize, that there is an on/off switch for the parking sensors, in the Presara and possibly in other Aurions. I must have pushed it to the off position, when cleaning the dash....now fixed. Also the steady red light in my Toyota Link, is a crappy backup battery, which doesn't happen very often in a new car, but can happen. Also I noticed a flickering in my HID's and after fitting a Canbus conversion kit, to my existing ballast, all is now working perfectly. These Presara's have no many electronics/alarms installed, it's mind bogling. All good for now, until the next component stuffs up. Regards..............Dixie.
  7. Hi Guys, Just recently, I installed a HID Conversion Kit to the high beams, of my Aurion Presara. The set up is only the 35 Watt, 4300k system and it appears to work o'k. The problem is, I have noticed that since the installation, my front and rear park sensors, no longer work and my toyota link light, when I am out and about, is now a contant "red" instead of the "green", it used to be. The link up works, but the light is different. My question is..........could the installation of the 35watt ballasts and the xenon globes into my existing wiring loop, be causing this problem? The only thing I did to the car, was disconnect the negative battery terminal, instal the HID kit and reconnect the battery!!! Any suggestions guys? Regards...............dixie.
  8. Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies. I fitted the HID's this afternoon and it only took me about an hour and a half. Quite a bit of mucking around, with the Presara and had to drill a couple of holes in the rear headlight covers, to accommodate the grommets and wiring. Not a lot of room to work, without removing bumper bar and headlights, but persistance payed off and after fitting a couple of 20 amp fuses, the lights are now working. However.........,I have noticed that the xenon globes, don't appear to pertrude into the reflector lens all that far and they are off set a little, towards the smaller side of the reflector !! Also, do I now have to re align the high beam, as the light now appears to be shining up in the air!! The light is definately brighter, but it doesn't seem to focus dead ahead, but lights the whole area up!! Regards................Dixie.
  9. Hi Guys, I managed to be fortunate enough (I hope), to obtain a very cheap HID conversion kit for my Presara. I only wanted the Single High Beam Kit and a mate, of a mate, of a mate, had a kit he purchased, but never got round to instal. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and mentioned I was buying a new kit. Anyway I got this kit at a bargain price and it's a 9005 4300k 35 watt outfit, which suits me fine. It's all still in the original box, which he has had apart several times, but the problem is, he has lost the installation instructions. Now as I have posted before, when it comes to automotive electronics, I'm better off baking a cake, so I was wondering, if any of you have any old instructions lying around and could scan to a word document for me, or know where I can download or view online, some instructions, to fit this kit. Also in the kit there are two igniters built into the wiring harness, which I haven't observed on some of the online kits, and a rubber grommet with additional wires, which I may not need, is this normal? The kit is a Xenon Super Vision HID !!!!!! Thanks guys..........Dixie.
  10. O'k, I have managed to take a couple of snaps of the rear of my headlights. Two of the right one and two of the left. You can clearly see the spring clip and the two bolt/screws, on the left hand one. Regards...........Dixie.
  11. Because you are going for a high beam, you should go all out and get a 50/55 watt kit. I would recommend the 4,300k as it will give you the brightest light and best range. There is no seller in particular for this kit that I'd recommend. You basically just make your own judgement based on their ratings etc. For example, this one looks to be a good one to go for: HID Xenon KIT h10 9145 9004 HB1 HB2 HB3 HB4 H13 50w/55w Does the back of your highbeam look like this? I took these three photos in the span of 30 seconds. I'm not saying that everyone can remove it quickly, but I'm saying that you shouldn't have to use tools just to remove your headlight bulbs. If you needed to use a spanner to remove your high beam, this would be a step back in design for Toyota because you can easily access the headlights without tools on the pre-facelift. This would also be the first case of me hearing about needing tools to change your headlights in any modern car. No mate, the rear of my headlights are nothing like yours, if they were, it would be a breeze to change globes. As I stated, the rear of my lights, have a hard plastic sealing cover, with a large spring clip on one end and two small (about 10mm) bolts, with a philips head top, so you can use either a screwdriver, or a 10mm spanner, to remove them. Cow of a design and bloody difficult to get good access to. Thanks for the ebay tip and hopefully I won't need to bug you, about this subject again Regards................Dixie.
  12. Thanks guys, no the company isn't an ebay seller, but I found him on the internet. O'k speedz, chicken or DJKOR, could you point me in the right direction for an ebay purchase, regarding a HID kit to suit my Presara? I'm a 62 year old, so I'm not out to impress my mates etc, just give me a nice bright highbeam with a good distance throw. Do you recommend the 4300k or the 5000k and in what wattage 35 or 55? If you would prefer to contact me outside the Forum, you'll get me at dixnrel@gmail.com. For DJKOR: Mate, I don't know about the older model, but the upgrade has a hard plastic cover over the rear of the headlight assembly, which you have to move to get at the globes. It's held by a large spring clip one side and two screw/bolts at the other end. The trouble is you can't get a philips head in because of the windscreen water bottle, which is right at the back of the headlight. The lefthand side is better, but you still have to move the battery out of you way, to get at the screws. The easiest way to get them apart was with a small spanner and barked knuckles Not a hard job to do, but hard to get at. Regards and Thanks................Dixie. :)
  13. O'k, I fitted the 65W +80% Philips Halogen. Wasn't the easiest job, as there isn't a lot of room for big hands, especially the right hand light, the bloody windscreen washer bottle is right behind, where you want to get your spanner into. Anyway there is a definite improvement over the standard halogens, but there is still that yellow light over the low beam HID's and just isn't bright enough, so I guess I will have to fit the 55W Hid's in the next few weeks, probably go with the 6000K. I found a mob in Sydney that can supply me a kit for $199.60, I know, I Know......I can get cheaper on the Internet, but being a novice I would probably buy the wrong ones. At least the bloke in Sydney knows exactly what I want, except that he tells me it's not illegal to fit HID's to your high beams, only illegal if you fit HID's to low beams, that didn't come as a standard fitment (OEM). Quote: Our Professional Grade kits come with a 2yr Warranty , have the latest advanced technology, are suitable for complex computer control systems (Can-Bus, EMC), as well as older vehicles. I would recommend our HB3 (9005) D-50w for your high beam. The 50w Digital HID Conversion Kit will give you 500% More Light than a standard 55w halogen bulb and last 10 times as long (equivalent to +250%). The bulbs come out of the Philips Light Source parts manufacturer, and the ballasts have USA made Digital CMOS Chips, German Siemens Parts, and Japanese parts (such as resistors and capacitors). The 50w kits will cost $188.30+$11.30 Overnight Freight Express Australia Wide - (Total $199.60) I would recommend 6000k as they come stock on the BMW and Mercedes etc… They are a white light, but have a blue tinge. The 6000k confirm with ADR. The ADR rule is for a “passing beam” or low beam. High beam is ok. The main worry is for passing vehicles who get blinded by too much light. High beam is ok (unless you forget to switch it off when you go past someone). Also again….Low beam is the issue, not high beam, it would not affect your warranty unless it did something wrong to the electrical system, which it cannot as they have built in circuit protection, and after selling over two thousand sets I would know. Just make sure it is a HB3 (9005), It should tell you in your manual, or you can just read it off the bulb that is in the vehicle. So I must admit, I am a little confused on the legalities. ......but the 55W HID's as advised, seems to be the way to go. ;) Regards.................Dixie.
  14. O'k thank you for that. I guess I can try the Philips Halogen +80% to see if there is a difference. The company states 80% more intensity without extra heat or power use increase, so it can't hurt to experiment. Thanks again for your input. Regards...............Dixie.
  15. Hi Guys, I think I may be biting off, more than I can chew here and creating a mountain out of a mole hill, as I am getting more confused by the minute, with regards to getting better performance out of my high beams. I wasn't aware it was illegal in NSW to install aftermarket HID's that weren't OEM!!! I certainly am not interested in creating problems for myself or voiding a warranty on a vehicle only 5 weeks old :( All I want to do, is a simple upgrade to my high beam globes, to get a better light output and more distance. I have read the contents, that DJKOR has provided at http://hirheadlights.com and this is probably the way I should and need to go, without any dramas. DJKOR, where am I able to buy a couple of the Toshiba HIR 9011 65W globes in Australia?? As I read it, the Toshiba HIR 9011 can replace a stock 9005/HB3 bulb, is this the bulb I have in the Aurion, which in my manual states it's a 65W HIR1 (how bloody confusing) Is the Toshiba HIR 9011 65W.....the bulb I am after, to give me stronger high beam........yes/no?? Sheez, I've got a splitting headache, I wish I could grasp this ****!!! :( Sorry again guys for my ignorance :( Regards..................Dixie.
