  1. I am truly jealous of your car! You seem to appreciate the TRD for what it is and no one can take that away from you. Enjoy it and look after it.. or enjoy it and trash the ***** out of it and run it into the ground..... after all, it is your car :D. WORD!
  2. I somewhat agree. But I can emphasise with the notion that you line up against someone at some lights and cross swords (lol) testing if your car wang is bigger than the next guy's... At that particular time all that matters is who can launch the fastest. Choosing a TRD Aurion over other options at the same price range probably wasn't the smartest idea if you want to smoke other cars that are of the current generation and in the same category because it simply isnt as fast. (I think I said that as nice as possible) Ok lets set this straight, I did not buy my TRD Aurion to 'smash' guys off the lights etc yadda yadda... thats what my modded MY06 WRX was for... I bought my TRD coz it was an all round good vehicle, power, speed, luxury.... When I wrote this post, I was stoked coz this 5.7 LS1 gave me an honest run, fanged it twice, every opportunity to kick my *****, I mean he had work done to it too, exhaust etc... My TRD is stock as they come, and he couldnt catch me... so yeh, I was stoked!!! It was a statement, not a challenge, but im up for a run any day... you can take a car from a driver, but you cant take a driver from his car..... Till my 12 points decease... TRD fo life... love my TRD!!!
  3. cool, have you tested your TRD 0-100? In theory it says 6.1. I haven't tested it though. The main problem is traction and wheel spin at standing start :( yeh, im thinking fatter, softer rubber might help...

  7. It isn't solely up to the driver, but neither is it entirely up to the car either. It is a combination of the actual performance characteristics of the car, the driver's ability in general, and the driver's intimate understanding of the car itself and how to extract the best from it. A good driver can drive a crap car fast. A crap driver can drive a fast car slow. A good driver can drive a fast car very fast. Get my point? sure do buddy, I have seen all three... ;)

  9. I doubt it mate.. seriously The XR6T's 4.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine is making 270 kW BUT!.... it loses 10% or more thru the drive train tp the rear wheels... 270 - 27 = 243kw... And TRD is 241kw with a loss of about 2% to front wheels technically it will be up to the driver and traction to see who wins... The advantage comes with the understanding that front wheel drive vehicles drive the steered wheels, which means a driver can utilize the power transmission to the steered wheels to prevent/reduce a skid - something a rear wheel driver cannot. The engine is also located over the driven wheels, improving traction somewhat. However, traction is lost to the front wheels in hard launches, due to the weight transfer to the rear wheels, which is why a rear wheel drive vehicle has an advantage on the drag strip.... Having driven both, I think the power to weight ratio in the TRD is much better so id like to prove it... any one got (or know of) a XR6t in Sydney thats willing to go for a run??? Love my TRD :D You're on crack if you believe anything of what you just said. Firstly, FWD cars lose a LOT more than 2% power between the flywheel and the wheels. And RWD cars lose more than 10% too - the figures normally come out at around 10-20%. And neither of those cars are making peak power numbers at launch RPMs either - a car with 200kw can beat a 300kw car off the line simply by having it's power down low, if you've ever driven a Toyota with a 4AGE and compared it to a 7AFE you'll know what I'm talking abot - despite a 15kw disadvantage the 7A can launch better and be quicker down low due to the better and fatter torque curve, but once the 4AGE hits the powerband it pulls away. And as for FWD cars being able to "power out of a skid", remember that every bit of grip being used to accelerate the car cannot be used to turn it. Applying the power in a FWD car when out of control will simply increase understeer. And as for the weight being over the driven wheels to improve traction, whenever you are applying power you are shifting weight to the rear of the car (ie under acceleration) and thus removing weight from the driving wheels - the only time you get weight shift to the driven wheels in a FWD car is when you are on the brakes, and if you shift that weight too quickly mid-corner you will create snap or lift-off oversteer, something from which it is very hard to recover from. Hey, how did u kno im on Crack??? Ok, my figures may not be right ... however, from what u sed, its all up to the driver, his ability to drive and his knowledge of the vehicle, correct? mmmmm.... Crack... LMAO!!! Lets settle it... do u have a friend with a XR6t or what??? Luv my TRD... :D

  11. nice... knowing that the XR8 is pushing 370 odd KW, i would have still given it run... just for fun ;) yeh good point about the F6 (stock) its been on my mind for a few weeks... my mate owns one and i aint seen him in a while (he owes me $300, no wonder i dont see him...LOL!) but you Mr TRD555 have given me an idea... We race, if I win he still owes me my $300, if he wins, he keeps the cash and i write it off as a bad debt... Ill make the call and see what happens B) Thanks for the thought... will update with outcome ...and maybe footage ;) love my TRD...
  12. yeh, the FWD thing had me too @ 1st, I had MY06 WRX (not STI, but chipped) and it stuck to the road... It wasnt until I drove the TRD that I appreciated why the toyota engineers didnt go RWD or FWD... they have done a fantastic job with the traction control, and for the power the car has, it sticks to the road, not like the Rexy did, but in a different, more sophisticated way... The Rexy made me feel like I was in a suped up go cart (which it was) but the TRD is like being on a train, heavy, powerful, and on track, heading straight for the destination... @ pycone, bro if u havnt already, get ur hand on a TRD and FANG IT!.... I mean it will take u a day or so to get to know it before you will push it... but once youve taken her virginity, this b*tch is urs for life... AWD and RWD wont matter any more... try it... I am curious to see TRD do go AWD in a new rumoured 2011 model... till then... im gonna enjoy eating up the eights ;) Love my TRD...
  13. Hey There, Just thought id share this... I am loving my '08 TRD... had the pleasure of smashing a 5.7ltr HSV 250+KW LS1, not once but twice before dawn yesterday morning... First run was of the lights and down a straight, I had him pinned for 300mtrs n he was at least 2 car lengths behind me, dint even use sports shift, could hear his cams scream as my blower kept whinning and pulling away from him... he backed off at 130km/hr... B) Praying for a red light, we got one, both turning right into a big sweeping bend on to the freeway! Yes! better still, im in the inside lane... Green light Go! I dart ahead, he slips behind me, road straightens up, we both press metal on metal, he darts into the left lane (thinking that he needed it.. lol!) but to his suprise my Supercharger whines away and I pull way in front, by the time I hit 4th gear, I was doing 160kph and about 4 car legnths in front with my TRD just loving the petrol and powering ahead... LS1 backed off... Adrenaline pumping... so proud of my TRD, oh yeh @ full boost when changing gear @ 155km/hr, wheels spin going from 3rd to 4th... f*cking phenominal... I knew TRD's were good, but this just blew me away... PS: if you are from a law enforcing agency, this story is fictional... if your a toyota owner or better yet a TRD owner, you know what really happened ;) lovin it... TRD588
