  1. Thanks for the info on batteries guys. Looks like its most likely the headunit is bung. It's 11 years old afterall. I unplugged and replugged the connection to the unit to make sure it was secure, and it didnt help. Time to go buy a new one.
  2. It's a stock one. How would I check the constant connection wire? It doesnt look particulary removable for me to check the wire connections (presumably in the back of the unit).
  3. Nopes, no probs starting the car. How much would a battery cost? Do I just buy the ones I see in Kmart?
  4. Hi all, My radio is forgetting all its presets. Even after programming them in multiple times, the radio forgets them the next time I get in the car. Is it the battery that's dying or the radio? I don't have any trouble with starting the car. The battery is about 4 or 5 years old. Cheers Chris
  5. Hi all, Where can I buy mass loaded vinyl and closed cell foam (preferably with the foam already attached as the decoupler)? The cheaper the better!! cheers chris
  6. Hi all, Can you use the OBDII connector and software to reprogram the ECU to accept new keys? (I am missing my master key so can't get the car to accept new keys using the "pedal dance" method)
  7. Hi all, I have a mysterious rattle I can't seem to locate: I have an echo 3-door hatchback. There's a rattle coming from the left side panel, near where the rear passengers sit. I've taken all the plastic trim off that side, but still can't seem to find anything loose that could be tap-tapping away. It is driving me nuts. What bits should I be investigating for looseness/shaking? Thanks Chris
  8. i just added a bottle of Fuel Doctor to my tank and wow i'm impressed! already its quieter idling. I can't wait to see what it's like when the whole tank has been run through. I'm gonna do like the bottle says and do 2 shock treatments cos my car is over 100k. Wonder if that'll make a difference. Still, worth trying at only $15 a bottle.
  9. Hi all, I foolishly let someone else drive my car. Now there's a couple somethings rattling around in the air vents. Sounds like a couple beads or something. They rattle around most when the air conditioning and fan are on. How do I inspect the vents to find and get rid of the debris? Where do I look?? I've tried to find a diagram of the vents and air flow paths for my car (Echo 2002 hatch) but no luck. Thanks for any tips! Christian.
  10. Thanks! I just searched for 'fuel doctor' on these forums and the reviews all seem great. i'm gonna get a bottle.
  11. Also, I've seen an ad for touch up paint on eBay. Any good or should i stay the heck away from them?
  12. I'm over in the south east. (for reference, how much did Olarenshaw's charge?)
  13. Hi all, I'm after some Alpine Silver (code 199) touch up paint for my 2002 Echo. Would Autobarn/Supercheap Auto/Repco have touch up pens or bottles? Thanks Christian
  14. Hi, I saw this cleaner on Amazon made by 3M which seemed to have good reviews (I love 3M stuff, such good products) Is there something equivalent I can buy here in Australia? Thanks Christian
