  1. Hi all, been searching the web for a service schedule for my 2005 GGN25R Hilux, but I can’t find anything? Anyone have a link that works? kal
  2. Thanks heaps Campbeam. Very very interesting. I was thinking maybe my next step was going to be take it to an auto electrician so now I definitely will and show him that article. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
  3. Hi all. I just bought a 2006 Dual Cab 4.0 petrol 4x4 Hilux. It's bringing up an error code for the 1st O2 sensors. The previous owner replaced them with after market ones, but it hasn't fixed it. I've taken it to two mechanics and an exhaust place, in case it was a manifold leak, but nobody has any idea how to fix it. Any ideas?
  4. are your brakes good, or do u have to push harder than you think you should?
  5. I wouldn't have thought so either. Mine was 2" all round but ive just lifted it another 1 1/2" at the front and Im having a bit of trouble with the left control arm just touching the spring. On the sublect of brakes tho, my brakes are, and always have been, absolutely terrible. You really have to press hard to get them to stop. When its cold the first brake of the moring is good, but that's it. Also with the abs, I find it works too often on any midly loose surface like grass or gravel, particularly when the caRS ALMOST STOPPED.
  6. wow, plenty going on there. Don't suppose the lift has anything to do with it by putting increased pressure in places it shouldn't be.
  7. ok problem solved. My mate brought a Snap-on computer and plugged it in. Error was P0045 Turbo/Super Charger boost control solenoid circuit/open. Grassman sent me the electrical diagram so I just looked for anything related to the turbo, and there it was. A little box beside the ECU with "Driver, Turbo Motor" on it, and yes, it would have been partly submerged. Bought a s/h one on eBay $225, plugged it in yesterday and vroooooom :))))) Kal
  8. Oh, and to check the fault codes, is that something I can do?
  9. Thx Manxman. Actually I didn't tell the full story. Yes water did get in the cabin. My left wheels fell in a gutter so the car was on a fairly big lean and the left side water was up to just below the doorhandles and the right side to Axel level so the left side of the cabin got completely flooded. I can't see the ECU. I'm guessing it up under the glovebox somewhere which means it would've been completely submerged
  10. ive just been through some very deep water in my 2007 Hikux SR5 D4D, and now the engine has gone into limp mode and won't rev past 1200 rpms. I also have a warning light on the dash permanently on. I Can't see anything obvious, and I've tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours to clear the fault buy it won't go away. Any ideas? Kal
  11. Hi Cookie, Yes me too!! Exactly same thing happened to me over Christmas. Did some pretty serious mud driving, now I've got soggy brakes and a loose handbrake! So glad you asked the question. Maybe it's a common thing?? All I can think is somehow water has got into the brake fluid. Don't ask me how but nothing else makes sense. I was going to bleed my system yesterday but didn't get a chance, but now I'm away for a week. Maybe try that and see what happens. It's only going to cost you a $10 bottle of brake fluid. Come on peeps, help us out :) Kal
  12. Great question. I just bought a 2007 which has a 2" suspension lift and is running 32s. Its good but the front is too low for my liking. Ive thought about something like this but its my understanding it would need an engineering certificate once done.
  13. Hi all. I just bought myself a 1993 4 door Hilux 4WD. I absolutely love it but it's a dog awful ride. It's got a 2" suspension lift. I feel every bump on every road and bounce along like a yo yo. It also has no body roll and funny enough corners better than our Prado. Is this normal? Can anything be done to soften the ride? New shokies perhaps? Also my font seat is too low. I know this is normal but I feel like a little kid peering over my steering wheel. Anyone know of another seat that's higher AND more comfortable that will bolt in? I'd love to hear from you. Phil ^_^
  14. Hi nocole. I just joined yesterday and saw this. It seems bizarre no one has replied. Looks like you're pretty handy there and sorted yourself out. You go girl :)
