  1. Gday all Good advise guys Yeah, took me a while to find the traction control button. if you hold it in shortely it will disable traction and it will turn off at 20 mph (or some speed near that). But, if you hold it in for longer it will stay on permantly till you turn it off. Also, setting the "snow" button to the on position helps. The throttle response is gentler and more controlable. I actually use the Snow mode around the city to get much slower throttle response (like a normal Car) I bought myself 2 Maxtracks and they worked so good that I bought 2 more on special and I've used them. Doubled up they're supposed to be strong enough to allow you to drive across small gulleys (haven't tried that yet) Also I bought an extra front eye bolt from the net (Rumania I think) plus 2 shackles and a short tow strap. My idea being to divide the load between the two eyebolts if I need a tow out. Haven't so far. You can gently pull a Kluger but NO snatching. Maxtracks and a gentle tow have got me out of a bogged situation. Oh yeah, get yourself a shovel. My Maxtracks, shovel and tow straps all fit behind the rear seat as if you move them forward a bit. Also I'm going to buy a hitch reciever to fit into the Reese towbar for being pulled out backwards. Now lets see who gets bogged! regards Doug PS the plastic skid plates are useless and will probably get crushed the first time you bottom out especially the front one. I've had much fun fabricating a multi layer front aluminium and steel skid plate over the last few months to replace the smashed plastic rubbish. It works well. I'm working on one to protect the petrol tank at the moment. I've also made a tiny one to protect the front of the muffler after I smashed it in on a rock. Pedders also quoted me $1800 to supply and fit a 2 inch lift kit.I'm thinking seriously about it.
  2. Has anybody bought or made any metal skid plates to replace the standard plastic ones?
  3. G'day all My first post I was visiting a mate with my newly purchased 2010 Kluger and he asked me how the 4wd system works but I was unable to explain it beyond it being electronically controlled . I read of terms such as "active differential' "traction control" "ABS" "ESP" on the internet but can't find much specific to the Kluger Can anyone describe how it all works together? Regards Doug
