Thanks for reply , yes could be .....am trying to figure out how to remove cluster ...... Thinking back , the problem first occurred after front tyres replaced . Is there something in the abs system that could have been knocked / dislodged by tyre "techs " ? Just looking for anything that maybe in the circuit that seems to come good after some use in motion , or rise in temp ? As I said , cruise , trip and odo's are fine , speedo needle works after 10 or so mins / k's , got me stumped at mo .

Have a speedo problem , after sitting for a while speedo needle not working till after 10 - 15 mins driving . Odo's work ok and cruise control ok . Is 92 Grande .Read on other forums in USA that maybe speedo sensor in auto or dry joint on board at back of cluster. Any hints how to remove cluster ? JC

Hi all , I have a 92 Cressida Grande mx83 , owned for 10 yrs with 263k . Standard grandpa car ( I'm that old lol ) . She's still going, bought her with 163k on clock was originally a CMI car built in 92 first reg in 93 . As with any 23 yr old car has a few niggles but don't really want to replace it with a more modern car ( what would you replace it with ? certainly not a falcodoremagnet . Maybe a Lexus cause in my opinion it would have to be that good . ( Maybe allow mileage light blue metallic grande with the sunroof ). Car still drives fairly smooth and regular maintenance ( oil & filter evry 5000 k ) has helped I'm sure . Having issues with strange coolant loss ....... think it's leaking out of heater core ( Can smell coolant in car and strange gurgling behind dash ) . Radiator replaced and not solved the issue , have leak from water pump ( Should have replaced it with radiator , doh ! ) Pretty sure dreaded head gasket ok ....... but you never know ........ Looking for new rear bumper retaining clip ( rh corner ) as broke original when tree jumped out at me . Probably needs new shockers as originals still there . Car owes me nothing and got over modifying cars in the 70 's with HG Panel Van ( Glory Days ) I"ve learnt if you wanna faster car go buy a faster car ....... cue howls of "OLF FART " from the hot up boys . Though would like a TA 22 Celica with the twin cam or modded for club racing ! Had a 75 Celica for 14 yrs , great little cars . Then an 81 Corona Liftback 5 spd , a nice ride that just needed more power ( 2 litre twin cam ? ) Then the Cressida as I wanted a luxury car with everything already there . Any way will post couple of questions re the niggles and be good to converse with fellow Toyota fans . Regardos JC
