  1. Just an update if anyone was thinking about debadging: The whole process took about an hour to do and I found the easiest way was to heat the badges, use dental floss to cut through the adhesive then a spray bottle with alcohol in it and just keep soaking the adhesive till it gave up and came off easily. I tried rubbing for my life and I found I got nowhere. Let the alcohol do the work. I have a very very light shadow of the camry and sportivo lettering but I think a deep cut and polish will help me out. I used an instant detailer spray to tidy my car up and went over where the badges used to be and its almost unnoticeable already.
  2. So I took ownership of a car and it was quite grubby inside. My go to for cleaning is always isopropyl alcohol but in this instance, it actually started to rub off the silver paint on my plastics most noticeably the letters next to my gear shifter The dash and doors are really greasy and probably have armor oil on them so I gave the dash, doors and steering wheel a very quick wipe down hoping to remove any greasiness but wasn't that successful. I'm going to attempt to use warm water and dishwashing soap today but has anyone else had this issue? Should I not be using alcohol on the plastics? I assumed it was safe. I'll post some photos of the wear which I'm not that concerned about as I can easily swap that plastic out. Does anyone have experience with Meguiar's products? I feel like once all the grime is removed I need something to protect the dash etc.. and I always got told Meguiar's was the best you can buy for interior and exterior. Also, Merry Christmas!
  3. I watched a couple of videos on how to and it looks simple enough. But I was worried because my ride is red that there may be more chance of some shadowing or faded paint over say a white or silver body.. (which all the tutorials were, white and silver)
  4. Ah awesome! I was hoping that's what I was going to hear. Thanks a lot guys, I'll be doing it this week some time for sure.
  5. Guys I wanna tidy up the rear end of my Sportivo but its red and I'm just hesitant.. It's an 09 model, I wouldn't say its been sitting in the sun all its life or anything. The body and paint look brand new to me. A lot of shimmy and shine to it but I just wondered, has anyone debadged and gotten stuck with some color fading? Is that a thing to worry about? I obviously don't wanna just rip everything off and regret it!
  6. I'm for sure going to use King Springs I just don't know about shocks. Is there any you can recommend or is that something I can just ask Pedders about? I'd prefer to buy online and save that way then find someone to do the work though as I feel that will be cheaper, though I could be wrong.
  7. I've read this posted around as well.. Do you know in more detail the available options? I'm looking for the most cost effective bang for my buck.. I don't have super deep pockets and I'm wondering what the alternatives are. If people use shocks from other models of Toyota etc.. I have a mate that has a commodore on King springs and he was telling me he swapped out his shocks for a model of Holden ute because they were more fitting for the job. So I'm curious if there is any hacks like that or if I'm just up for spending the cash on shocks like KYB and that's that.
  8. Haha Thankyou! Am on the lookout for info and or parts for more low.
  9. Yeah you're totally right. I have no idea about shocks though so hoping someone chimes in!
  10. Hey guys, Please don't flame me. I spent the better part of an hour searching through and reading old posts about lowering but didn't find the answers I need, or better still, found some contradicting information. My Sportivo has just done 101,000Kms and I'm looking to put some King Springs on it (50mm on the back and 30mm on the front as per most the forum recommending) but I can't find much info about shocks, brands, replacement parts or a direction to go in regards to ordering them, where from etc.. I also read a thread where someone stated Sportivo shocks are online standard shocks and the member had King Springs installed and still riding smoothly 150,000Kms in... I dont wanna be that noob to be spoon fed, but if someone could clarify a few things for me I'd be greatly appreciative. I also don't wanna throw new springs in then in a couple of months time realise I need new shocks too and pay double the labor to get them fitted after the fact. Thanks in advance!
  11. Hey everyone! New Camry Sportivo owner here fresh to the forum. I picked up the car this week and for the most part, it's been a family car and driven like one. It's got tints and some decent enough wheels. It's just done 101,000k so I'd be keen to find out what to start looking out for in the way of maintenance etc.. Mods that I want to complete: - De-badging - HID's - Lowering (would especially like some help in this department) - Full stereo upgrade Just wanna keep it nice and clean and not attract too much unwanted attention. Always curious to see what other peoples input is, what clean mods have been done to other Sportivos and what recommendations come my way. This is my second car and hopefully a keeper for a while!
