    limp mode

Hi, we were just wondering if you are still having trouble with your 200 series going into limp mode ? If not, how did you fix it. ? Our car is doing it & 2 dealers are unable to tell us exactly why. They say the codes are coming up that it is the turbo, but a turbo specialist (hasn't seen the vehicle yet, over 4 hrs away) has asked us details about the turbo & what it is & isn't doing. The car isn't showing any signs of a problem, but just goes into limp mode when it feels like it. One dealer thought they had fixed the problem, but 20kms down the road it did it again. Tried to contact the previous owner to see if they had any problems, but no luck. We phoned the dealer who had done all the previous services, but were told due to confidentiality, they couldn't help us. We asked questions before on this site, but didn't get any real comebacks.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with my 200 series 2007 land cruiser with 92,000kms on the clock. The car is going into limp mode (50kms) at any time & this could be dangerous if over taking.I have done some google searches & it seems to be a common problem, but I can't find anyone who has had it fixed. Different people have said different things from changing batteries, touching disconnected battery terminals together. The Toyota dealer hasn't come across the problem, so can't give me a quote to fix it & the auto electrician cant find the problem either, Toyota fault code P004B is showing. Has anyone had this problem or know of someone that has & what fixed the problem. Grateful of any suggestions, as I cant afford $2,500. from someone that has mentioned that they might be able fix the problem, very "frustrated"
  3. Hi Homer & Marge, I am a 200 series Toyota owner & am having this trouble now. On doing some research I have hit a brick wall. The dealer doesn't know what is causing it, the auto electrician doesn't know what is causing it, he disconnected our breaking system & it is still doing it. It happens both towing & not towing. It goes into limp mode & we have to pull over as 50km p/hr is dangerous in the country when trying to pass road trains. Good luck, I haven't had much luck
