  1. cheers mate, i didn't really know. but at least there's heaps of light now.
  2. I extended the dome light to included the center diffuser that doesn't have a globe or wiring of any sort in it. Its had me confused as why it was there without a light so i put my own one in. I fitted LED's into the dome light and just extended the wires to the center light above the driver/passenger. The amount of light in there is great now and lights up the whole cab. I will need to come up with an idea on how to hide the red cabling.
  3. No humming noisies what so ever are emitted from this unit. It uses all the standard plugs for power etc so earthing is good. Unforunatly there are no time alignment features in the equalizer but I was still impressed with the quality. It's no top end unit like Audioson, Macintosh or Zapco but for the price you pay it does a good job. Ill post a video up so you can see the screen quality of you like.
  4. Had this unit installed now for one month and it's going great. Everything works as it should. The radio range is definitely a little less now but you only notice it when you leave the city limits. I only play music videos in the car now. Works great, with 780p resolution. The 2 second start up time is awesome. The OBD2 gauges on the unit are a cool feature. The dash cam runs off the second USB outlet and powers up when the unit does, the first outlet has my music videos and the iPod dock is connected also with a nano unit. Offline maps are a plus.
  5. No such problems with the Avin unit I installed in our Aurion. 2 Second start time and offline maps. The sound quality is good for what it is, but I didn't get it for that. Has nothing on our Harman Kardon system in our other car tho.
  6. Hi, I recently did this also for our Aurion. I found a bunch of methods and was willing to try them all. This very one that you have the steps for worked for me. luckily it was the 3rd one that i tried. I found that you have to be spot on with your seconds counting for it to work, memorising it will make it smoother.
  7. if you're spending that sort of money have you looked in to these ? https://us.store.parrot.com/en/asteroid/290-asteroid-smart-3520410010491.html Reversing camera?
  8. I believe there's adaptors that you can get. I've seen a bunch on eBay. you're best of contacting Eonon. i do know that for the Avin unit i just installed is offered with adaptors to suit most makes.
  9. Woo Hoo! So i got this unit installed in our car. Works as stated. The image quality is unreal as per pic of Bob Marley its advertised as 1080p. i added a reversing camera as per link and it all worked first go once i installed it, no mincing about with PAL or NTSC format. I purchased the external mic but didn't end up fitting it as the standard mic does a good job, no background noise was heard once i adjusted the mic gain to its lowest setting. (i do this on all our cars, takes the background sound right out). I have a 4g dongle that the unit connects to for internet for now. the sound EQ is awesome i'm still running the standard speakers. i don't think they'll last too long as the amp in the unit is rated at 4 x 45W, the speakers are already rattling. the only thing that I really noticed was that FM range was reduced, but that's neither here nor there for me. All in all a great unit and i would recommend to anyone, ill update with better pics during the day. its been pouring down here in Brisbane. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Reverse-Rear-View-Parking-Camera-Toyota-Aurion-Reversing-Camera-XV40-Backup-/220699849793
  10. In my experiance the clear LED's that you mentioned that are clustered around the camera are usually IR hence no visible light is emitted. Although I have seen versions with white LED's now. Did it end up lighting up at night time?
  11. Received a text saying I'll be getting it today seeing as it only left on the 14th of June. I'll be spending Sunday afternoon doing the install. Here's the link if anyone wants a better look. https://avinusa.com/ Our Aurion is going to be the test bed for our ML350, If I like it then I'll be getting one for the Mercedes with the MOST kit to suit the fibre Harman Kardon system.
  12. yay! I went to Toyota yesterday with this issue. The gent promptly took photos of my dash and said that its the worst one he has seen so far. Long story short they have ordered my new dash from Japan and will call to book in a time to replace it. Thanks to the help from people on this page and the Facebook page.
  13. Hi Guys, I'll post some pics once installed. Only just ordered it from the USA so should receive next week. Looking forward to listening to my own music and being able to talk on the phone legally. Some of the specs as per below. I ordered with Australian maps on a 64Gb mini SD storage CARD, OBD2 port accessory, reversing camera and remote microphone.
