  1. Thanks for replying to the topic. The car, driven in town, no towing, no hard acceleration.
  2. I bought a Camry new car in 2010. No issues except 6 months ago, there is a weird transmission sound. When the car is started from cold, 1st gear change to 2nd gear gives a stretching sound and resistance and then it is gone. No issues for other gear changes. This only happens when car is cold, engine started and at low speed. I have let Toyota guys had a look and they said it is steering engagement - not sure what they meant. This noise was never there before when I bought it. the Toyota guys did not change any transmission despite the noice occurring during the scheduled service. is this indicating the transmission oil is low, dirty or something else is wrong. Fyi, my car is maintained by Toyota dealer from the time it is bought. With this car, you cant check the transmission oil as I believe it is hidden somewhere. Pls comment.
