  1. hello guys , I own a Toyoya Hilix Surf 3LTD , auto , from 1993. it have 290 000 k. but been serviced by previous owner and myself ( well I don't really know everything yet but planning on to..) my Hilux is not working anymore ... I brought it to 3 different mechanics in Darwin, and none of them found the real problem. they all charged me for something, change a part blablabla but a few days or maximum a week later , the problem always came back . we brought it to another guy, who told us the problem is mainly the EGR Valve . So he took the truck, kept it for a few days , charge me a lot of money , and told me he fixed a metal part on the EGR valve, because it was dirty and it would do something about the gaz....well don't really know how to tell in English, but I've seen that many times on youtube , people cleaning and fixing their own EGR valve.. So when I got the truck back , it was working properly .. well when I started the truck , I still had for the first 10 seconds , like some little holes in the engine, like a bit of air inside, so I guess I should have purge/clean/empty injectors... during one month, no trouble except like I said , the first 10 second when you start ..and then, everything was working good. a week ago , the truck stopped working again. same problems as b4 . Now, when I start the truck , it will start , then the engine will go from 900RPM to 1500RPM and then stop. star it again, will start straight, accelerate itself, then stop again, making a cloud of smoke. So I checked myself the problem, checked the EGR valve and I notice that the mechanic never use a metal part , but a bloody piece of red bull can ( picture ) . so I guess , I would have to remove the EGR valve by myself, clean everything ,get or make myself the metal piece , and put everything back ..but the thing is , in the videos , people can just remove the EGR valve , not the hole part. but it seem to me , for my truck I have to remove the whole part, and it does look massive. I don't know what I'm really suppose to do. don't really know if I can remove everything without doing something back. I mean, if I remove some part, I guess some air will be stuck inside after... can I remove them ? actually, now I'm lost. when I watch video or take advice, it seem not too hard, when I open my hood... I'm just lost. so any help , any tips , anything, would help me... cheers guys. Matthieu 20170112_174502.mp4
