  1. I'd help you out if I could Sophia but I still don't have the files myself. If anyone has them could you please send them to me as well at: It would be greatly appreciated. I even bought a new head unit but couldn't get it to communicate with all the steering controls even though the unit said that no remotes were needed 😡. So now I'm back to wiring up the old unit but it still won't be of any use unless I either reload the files or fork out $600 for a new SD card. Pretty frustrated especially since I only want to sell the car anyway. so if anyone could please share those files I'd be forever grateful...
  2. Hi ZZT86, As far as I know the SD card contains the operating software for the head unit. And instead of the unit having memory to store this software it must have an eprom ( very old technology) to store it and once power is lost to the eprom the program disappears. Now that's engineering at its best!
  3. Hi all, I have the same issue too but it's for my wife's 2012 Subaru XV. We didn't get a SD card with the car when we bought it so when I recently disconnected the battery to charge it, the next time I turned the accessories on I saw the message "program loading is necessary please insert SD card." The dealer wants $500+ for a new SD card, which if it comes to that, I'll just install a new head unit. Its a slightly different model than the one mentioned above but hopefully the operating software is similar. If anyone could send me the files that would be much appreciated. My email address is: Thanks, Tim.
