I used to have a 22r in a rn105 lux. I was looking at supercharging it & done lots of research. There are lots of mods you can get from the usa but $$$$. To get any kind of decent power gains from that motor you have to dig very deep. Put a better motor in it. I abused my 22r & it never let me down. My advice is put up with what you have or swap the motor for something with more power. It will be cheaper to swap professionally instead of mod the 22r.

Hi. I used to own a rn105 hilux. 5 speed & loved it. A few cars later i have a 1981 ln46r 2.2l diesel & love it more. The only downside apart from needing a turbo & a straight through exhaust (i have future plans for this) is it has a 4 speed gearbox & whilst traveling down the freeway at 100kms/hr its reving at 3500rpm & red line is at 4500rpm. It really needs another gear. Which 5 speed box should i use to fit my "L" motor? Any help is much appreciated. Pic is to show my lux. Just finished sorting out the rust.
