  1. So i have a 04 sportivo corolla, pretty low kms 119,000 kms, it drives nice but i want some more power, have put injen cold air intake in and an exedy heavy duty clutch ( was having some issues with clutch before hand) does anyone have some ideas for a bit more response and power without having to turbo or supercharge it? Also a mechanic said i should avoid changing 1st and 2nd in 8000kms+ does this sound about right? I don't really thrash this car but when i want to put my foot down i definatly want more response in the lower rev range, and more overall power. Thanks guys
  2. Hey guys, Long story short I was sharing a car with my family (Mum) but was gifted a car for free! I guess for Christmas. Im not a car guy at all but I suppose I might have been bitten buy some kind of bug. I believe its an AE92R - Thats what it says in the owners manual. On the side of the car there's a faded SRI Limited(?) I dont know if this is a thing or not. Down to business though its a 23 year old car (1994- As old as me!) and makes a bit of a rattle when accelerating from 20kmph to 50. I believe from the small amount research and poking around its the exhaust manifold- It has a 1" crack in it and the cover on top of it is loose. I'm looking at replacing these so if anyone has done it before please let me know how it went ! -Stew
  3. Hi everyone, I am trying to source foglights for a Series 2 Corolla wagon (ZZE122R), the larger plastic ones with the spotlight inserts. Please let me know if you have any for sale or are aware of where they can be found, purchased etc. Thanks!
  4. Hi, I’m having difficulties with my car audio in a ZR Levin 2008 model Corolla. I am hearing audio only faintly through my tweeter speakers.. all other sound has stopped. I had someone check the console and wires behind to make sure it is working/swap in another one to see if it made a difference which unfortunately it didn’t. I don’t think the speakers have blown. When the audio cut out the first time, it came on the next time I started the car and then cut out again and hasn’t worked since. I also can’t find anyone on the net in Sydney that offers repairs of the sought? Has anyone experienced this problem before? Any ideas as to how to fix it?

  6. Hi all, I'm in the process of replacing my springs in each corner of my AE93 Corolla. I'm getting a set of new harder standard height springs from Pedders at a very good price. From past experience I've found that the rubber isolators that sit at top & bottom of each spring generally wear and need replacing at spring replacement. My old Peugeot 505 had ones that fell to bits when they were removed. My question is, where do you get them? A search on Google wasn't very helpful, no one seems to sell them. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what was a workaround that was employed to fix this? I considered getting some thin rubber sheeting from Clark Rubber and cutting it up to suit. Prolly won't work as the seats are an odd shape. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Matt.
  7. Hey everybody Im currently in need of a stock or sports Toyota Corolla Sportivo Exhaust. Not the whole system but mainly just for the muffler. If anybody based in Sydney has one in stock and is no longer in need of the exhaust. Please PM me. Admin delete if not allowed. Thanks guys!
  8. Hi guys, Had a question about an issue I am suffering with my Corolla (2007) Ascent. Essentially the gauges (speed, odometer, rev), lights for cental column (air con, fan) are not turning on when I switch headlights. They come eventually. Unfortunately, this may mean minutes without lights on my dashboard. Basically, i can't clear see my speed at night. Headlights and rears work fine. Internal lights above head switch on fine. No issues there. Just my internals on dashboard that are suffering here. I analysed the no.18 fuse (in engine compartment) for "internal lights" but it is not blown. Not an electrician. Could it be the relay though? Any thoughts guys? Thank you.
  9. Hi, my Corolla has had this vibration for a couple of months now, which is very annoying. It only happens once I get above 90 KM/h and gets worse the faster I go. At first I thought it was the front tires so I changed them and got them balanced, and it still persists. Had a slightly bad rear driver's side bearing and just thought the problems were related but that was not it neither as I changed it to. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Hey guys, Just wondering what is the best kind of aftermarket Headunit that is compatible for a Toyota Corolla ZZE122R, Price can range from a low cheap of $30 all the way to $500 if its worth it. Also in need of a facia kit too! Cheers fellas.
  11. Hey guys, Im currently looking for any recommendations on where is the best place to get lowered springs or coilovers for a 2005 Toyota Corolla Levin. I see on Ebay and they go for 1000k+ in which is out of my budget range as which I am only 17. Ive been thinking on getting Kings Lowered Springs for a while but deep in my mind I still want some coilovers. If anybody has an idea or is selling what I need above. Please contact me. Your help would mean a lot! Cheers.
  12. Hi, I have corolla 2005 ZZE122R and I noticed that while idling (stop at lights, in traffic eg.) the engine stutters from time to time with uneven periods like every second - every 5 seconds then every two seconds. It seems like the engine is misfiring for short while - 1/2 second - and then runs well. I notice this for now only at idle. Would there be an indication what I might expect? Thanks
  13. Hi All, New to the forum. Can't find any info. I am looking to replace the stock speaks in the front with a new aftermarket set. The Corolla currently has a component setup, but was wondering if I can just swap out the 6.5 speakers in the door with a 3-way coaxial speaker? If not, do I need to install a component setup, and where will the stock crossover be? Any link to guides would be appreciated.
  14. Hey everyone, new to the corolla scene here, i've owned a 2005 Corolla Ascent Hatch ZZE122R for around a year now and was just wondering if it is possible to modify it and make it look nice and unique in a way? you know like the usual, body kit, exhaust, wheels, suspension setup and if worth it, some performance parts. I'm not sure whether the car is compatible with the usual 2005 levin/sportivo parts, so it would be much appreciated if someone can help me out! Mind me if this sounds all stupid lol. Much appreciated! cheers ;)
  15. Hello Everyone! my Dad gave me his 2007 Corolla as a first car. it has done a fair few Kms (260,000). after that time, the chrome ring on the stock gear shift has peeled up and is quite annoying to shift with. i have been thinking about replacing it with a new one im making in my engineering class. i have been looking online for tutorials on how to remove the stock one but to no avail. is it just threaded on? any help is appreciated. Thanks!.
  16. Hey guys I just bought a 11/2007 Corolla and I want to chuck on some nice wheels, an exhaust and a body kit of some kind. Eventually adding all the bells and whistles as I go along. I'm not really in the know with cars and am looking to start working on this myself as much as I can but don't know where to start shopping or what is compatibile with my car. Any suggestions, information, brands, pricing etc for a lower budget newbie to make my car look and sound tough would be greatly appreciated
  17. Hi, the ignition key to our 2006 Corolla lost its internal circuit block after the case with the buttons fell apart. We've been unable to find the part that fell out. We have a second key which is still working. Is there a smarter/cheaper way to get a second key back as I'm being told Toyota want $230 for the key blank, pay extra to locksmith to cut the key, then pay $70 to Toyota service to program the key. It all seems like a really bad joke considering this only happened due to faulty Toyota key design causing it to break. If I don't get a second key back and the sole working key is lost apparently its fatal for the car. Anyone been through this before, particularly in Melbourne?

  20. Hi guys, Replaced coolant today. A relatively easy job, but I'm not sure if I managed to drain all the old coolant. First opened the radiator tap and drained about 4.5L, then opened the engine block drain (v. hard to get to) but only got 50mL or so out of this one. According to service manual there should be about 5.5L total. Any ideas?
  21. Hey guys I'm fairly new to this group and I'm having trouble finding a front bumper for my corolla. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find one. 23. Engine Swap

Hey guys I have recently purchased a Toyota corolla 1999 CSI SECA Hatch and want more power under the hood. It was suggested by a friend that I engine swap the small 1.6L engine out for another model/ bigger one from a camry (1.8L - 2.0L) or Vienta (2.0L v6). Being on my P's I'm guessing there is a power to weight limit. Any suggestions with what engine i can fit and what would be legal for me to drive? - Thomas Are there any newer engines that may fit?
  24. Can anyone tell me approximately how many kilometers original clutch should last in one of these Corollas please? I have one with 150,000km, which is getting intermittent problem with clutch pedal staying down near floor making it impossible to change gears. If you manually pull the pedal back up level with brake it goes back to normal and stays that way until it does it again. I would like to know if the pedal is supposed to do that to indicate clutch replacement is due? If not any ideas what causes the clutch pedal to do that please?
  25. Maitland Toyota gave me this work around to turn off the luggage/cargo compartment light while the hatch door is open. 1. Open the hatch; 2. Push the hatch locking latch across with your finger forcefully until it clicks; 3. Push it across further until it clicks again; 4. The lock latch will now be in the fully closed position; 5. The luggage compartment light will now be off. IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST UNLOCK the latch BEFORE trying to close the hatch again. Do this by pressing on the hatch door release bar below the Toyota emblem as you did when opening the hatch originally. This opens the lock latch and also turns the luggage compartment light back on. This method should work on all 2016 model Corollas and I would assume earlier models with the same body shape as well, and likely for any other Toyota models that do not have an ON/OFF switch for the luggage/cargo compartment light.
