I have no clue.. Usually, service fee shouldn't cost that much. Ask other dealer in ur area and ask for a quote.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's 07 manufactured but has 90,000 KM on the clock.

mine is due for it's 90,000 km service in a few thousand k's. This usually wouldn't be far away, but at the moment... it may take a little while.

Anyways, I would expect it to cost me no more than $250 and that is providing my own fluids. Looking at the service requirements in the service schedule, there isn't anything out of the ordinary compared to previous major services that I have had.

I will be adding about $100-$150 to that though because I will be getting a transmission fluid change.

Thanks DJ, I think I will phone around, seems high to me, even the wifes Prius never costs anything like that, yes I know chalk and cheese, but they seem to think the Prius should cost an arm and a leg and it dosen't even have belts etc. top be worn, checked etc.

Very true. I completely overlooked that when I had a look at the requirements.

It is the spark plugs, Flush brake Fluid and change cabin filter, a good website I found to compare prices for service was fixedpricec****rvice.com.au but I am in no way recommending any repairers listed just a good comparison site, Cheers

My Presara 60,000km is coming up with a quote $243 (online boking). I don't know how they work this out because the standard maintenence is $160 or very close to that. Anyway, still cheap, I paid $1,600 service lask week for my other car as mentiond in this:

Well that was a bit of a shock. Called up to book my 90,000km service and asked for a quote firstly and was quoted about $650 and that was supplying my own oil and brake fluid. Time to find someone else it seems.

Edit: I really can't be stuffed to part with my money even if it's going to end up costing $500 from somewhere else. I'm just going to get the required bits and do it myself. The car is practically out of warranty anyways. I'll just get the transmission fluid changed by them at a later date.

I hope the rear bank of spark plugs can be removed/replaced easily.

does the upper intake manifold have to come off to get at the rear bank of plugs?

It sure does. That's not a problem for me as I can easily take that off and I'll just get a new gasket for it. My main concern is how much space there is going to be to access the rear bank of plugs after that.

cant be any harder than a set of subaru sparkplugs with the coils and plugs jammed between the chassis rail and the head... I had to make a custom length socket extension to do my forester's....

So usually when exploring new territory with my car, I like to think of ways to do it myself. If after a while of thinking, I can't figure it out, I will look at the service manual. If the procedure looks un-necessarily lengthy, I will try to think of shortcuts.

Unfortunately in this case, the service manual wins.

There are two bolts holding the intake plenum to the engine at the rear. One of these I managed to remove thanks to my tiny hands and wrists. The other one however has no shortcut. For those wondering what is involved just to change your spark plugs.... this should give you an idea. I kid you not:

Then you can finally take the intake plenum (surge tank) off:

Sorry to dig this thread up, but I'm up for my 90,000 km service soon. It's kind of worrying that prices range from $500 - $900 and I'm a bit worried about spark plugs change if I were to do it myself. Normally, I'd do it all myself, but looking at DJKOR's pictures, I'm not sure if it's worth it to change the spark plugs myself :S. There's probably more that I need to do, but I don't have my manual on me haha.

Mines overdue for the 90,000 :(. I'm at 95 currently, I'll definitely look into getting it done soon.

At what point is the traditional 100,000km service done? Things like harmonic balancer, cam seals, rear & front main seals, water pump, oil pump, timing belt etc?

I just realised my next yearly service is next month! (I can't believe it's been a year already). I do the additional services myself in between (shhh, don't tell Toyota :P).

I have to take it to the mechanics as I still have extended warranty, but I'll be supplying all parts. Where is the best place to buy the spark plugs? Is it still ebay from the US? DAMN, so regretting not buying them off ebay when the AU dollar was really really high against the US dollar.
