Hilux 2010 SR cruise control

I'm a newbie to the forum so please take that into account in replies.

I have just purchased above vehicle and want to fit a cruise control to it. Should I go to Toyota or after market? Cost is a consideration but not if reliability is uncertain.

Your advice will be appreciated

I just had one fitted to my 2011 Hilux this week by http://jcafleetservices.com.au/products/cruise-control/ and Price was $895.00.

I believe Toyota unit is over $1000.00.

Tks Graeme, much more expensive than I had been led to believe. Why did you go for this particular one? Is it mine site specified? If so I am not in that situation. Never intend going near a mine.

My choice was based on safety factor of "Drive by Wire" style.

From your research what are the options for cheaper solution and what are their pros and cons? I don't understand what "Drive by wire" benefits are.

I didn't find any signifcantly cheaper solutions. and come to think of it I think the Drive by Wire is the only style you can fit to the later model hiluxes anyway. Give Mark a call at JCA and he will explain it to you better than I can. They also come to you in the metro area to fit at no extra cost.
