86 Headunit Back

Hey guys,

I recently purchase the Toyota 86 GTS head unit for my car. I run a 2005 Toyota Corolla Sportivo.

All that was required for the switch was an antenna cable to fit the old car to the new technology.

After a few months with it, I have decided that the USB on the front is being overworked and I would like to run it out the back and out of sight.

Obviously the 86 comes with a USB port in many places around the car, my car doesn't.

After much looking around, I found the attached picture detailing the back of the head unit.

I note that there is a USB port out the back named "CN4100."

On the whole of the internets, it seems there is a hilux forum that has the info but you have to be a member to view and sign up. Before getting too desperate I thought I would try here.

Does anyone know if that port allows a USB (iPod) to be plugged into the back of it?
Secondly, does anyone know where I would acquire such a cable to fit the back?

Any help is appreciated.

Other than that, Toyota said the head unit was made by Fujitsu so I may give them a call too.

Thanks

Give the Spare Parts department over at Castle Hill Toyota a call.

Long time ago when those new headunits came out I put one into my 2008 Corolla. I got that USB connector from them for about $45. Had AUX with it as well but never got that to work.

Thanks. Yeah I'll try the one on ebay especially as it is only $10.

I'll post back here when I eventually get it and fit it.

Phil helped me out with installing my my unit ,we also installed a toyota AUX port with the harness but had to be modified to work > http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/45466-replace-2011-aurion-touring-steering-wheel-with-one-from-zr6-sportivo/

just the harness was $78 for the AUX port not including the AUX port ,what is the part number on your AUX and USB port ?

Hey, guys. I bought this aux cable ages ago and installed. It works great but the new 86 headunit doesn't like the old iPod touch, 1st gen as it won't connect when u turn on the car. U have to wait about 10 seconds, unplug and replug it in and then it will connect.

Unfortunately, I think the issue is with the headunit as plugging it into the front usb using diff cables results in the same outcome. Doesn't matter as I don't leave it in the car anyway
