That really sucks dude :/

Any extra details on what exactly happened?

Threw a rod? Hydrolocked? Cracked head? Oil leak/seizure? IED style explosion?

Thats sucks. How many kms were up on her?

I know (personally) of a couple people have an oil leak issue some resulting in some bad damage

1 other with rod out of the block, but he was being quite rough and harsh on the TRD at the time with 250+kms on the clock.

now just a train of thought to my understanding the engine is just the same in all Aurions 2GR-FE. all you really need is the pulleys, Supercharger, Supercharger intake housing + 2GR-FE.
Clearly someone with more knowledge with Toyota and TRDs may shed some light but you could use the same ECU, tranny and etcs,

Good luck mate.

PS. I know on ebay about 2 months ago a whole TRD Engine+ SC came up, but it got brought ever so quickly.

This is what ****s me with car companies.....people fork out good earned dollars for cars in particularly like this one. Then when it doesnt sell well or problems start to occur...they completely abandon the model. This is the same issue I occured when I bought my mazda 6 mps many years ago. I was forced to sell as there was lack of local support and parts can only be sourced through dealerships and we all know what they are like with pricing. Ive learnt the hard lesson that if you are going to get a fancy car, ensure that there are heaps of local support and parts are easy to come by. Its not best to have the unique one off car these days as you might be left stranded, unless your willing to fork out big bucks for parts where you can easily use that for something worthwhile like a house. And dont believe stealerships saying that there most expensive x car is bulletproof. On average cars are made to last x amount of ks these days

I feel your pain TRD

Sources inside Toyota have this morning suggested that Toyota have indefinitely stopped the sale of the new TRD Aurion due to issues - presumably issues stemming from under the bonnet.

The issue appears to have stemmed from a single TRD Aurion which was involved in an accident recently in Melbourne, driven by a Toyota salesperson.

A CarAdvice reader contacted us last week with information about a TRD Aurion being involved in a single car accident in Melbourne that required paramedic and police response. At the time, we simply thought it was a one off incident, but it appears it may be at the heart of this matter.

CarAdvice is waiting for comment from Toyota to confirm the allegation. Although we didnt have any issues with both TRD Aurion test vehicles we have driven, Toyota will presumably go to efforts to check dealer and marketing vehicles, along with customer vehicles if requested. In the mean time read our TRD Aurion Review.

source? as in link to article?

Edit: nevermind repeat of a old article you posting about all over this sub forum, about a fault 7 years that was fixed with re mapping.

The trd engine is a stock aurion engine isnt it?

F**k the dealers off in repairing it.

Get another engine from same year and drop it in.

Myself and byw on here help each other with parts carried and finding things out we shouldn't.

Hi TRD 194.

I'm wrecking an '07 TRD (SL) in WA (should be finished by 27.08.14), so there are still some original TRD parts available ... even the full motor, which was serviced 3 weeks ago (I have full log books) and only done 75,500 km.

If you wanna send me an email bid for any of the parts, read points 1 to 4 at the bottom of my first post, post #1 (current bids for each part are at post #10) ...
