Crank angle sensor

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My 1991 Tarago GLi died suddenly at Easter time. My mechanic gave up and palmed me off to an auto electrician, who thinks the problem is the crank angle sensor or the connectors to the distributor/coil. He can't get hold of the parts to test it, without spending a fortune on heaps of stuff he doesn't need. He's been looking for 6 months - still no luck.

I live in Adelaide, South Australia.

Is there anyone out there who can help?

Thanks Shaun,

I've passed this on to my auto electrician. He said the problem is intermittent so a good reading won't help solve it. I've scored a dizzy/sensor from a nearby wrecker, so I'm hopeful of a solution soon.
