Hi El Donkey,

There is no access hatch to the rear strut, you need to remove all the trim from the Cargo area and the side bolsters for the rear seat.

there are 4 bolts/screws to remove and then the trim panels just pop out from the plastic tree clips.

The darker plastic trim on the top of the carpeted areas will come off still attached to the carpet.

The 2 main nuts for the top of the shock are in the 2 photos attached.

Took about 20mins to remove, all you need is a 10mm Socket and a phillips head and a flat head to ease out the clips.

I can post some more photos if you need them as i am about to pick up the newly lowered 'rolla

thanks mate all good, ive done the job the other day, and let me say i was sore all over. The rear shocks were the killer unbolting the top bolts needed some serious leverage then the top bolt of the strut was hopeless. It just spun and never loosend. I had to use a 6mm allen attachment on top then a 17mm spanner squeezing together to loosen it.

I broke my first allen key inside of the strut plus a socket attachment trying to break it loose. So a quick trip to Bunnings for some new tools and i had to sit on a wheel which was on top of the strut to keep it still while i stood on the allen key and then broke the nut with the other foot with the spanner.

Talk about a hassle, and then repositioning the spring and rubber top properly did my head in aswell. I always say never again but when i finished to be honest, i used super low and it was far from low at all. I thought i just spent a whole day doing this and it looks crap.

But it has settled abit now and im happy, any lower and i wont be able to get out of the driveway without scrapping and leaving half the car behind lol.

Nice work on doing it yourself, I couldn't wait for the weekend so took the easy route and got my tyre guy to put them in.

I thought the same about the height when I first saw it, but as you say at least there are no worries about driveways and speed humps.

I really like your yellow high beams, how did you do that?
