Cabin air filter

Hi, I have a 2006 SR5 Hilux. I removed glove box to fit cabin air filter, but found no cover plate just a blank plastic plate not removable. Is it possible to modify and cut out the blank, fit a new cover plate so that I can place a filter in position. Is this possible?

Fair dinkum, mine is a 2006 upgrade and its got one. Maybe Toyota didn't start fitment until end of 06. Give em a buzz

I wouldn't rush into cutting anything, as stated there may have been a variance in the models. From memory 06 was around the change over to the "facelift".

it is possible to cut/modify the box but you will need to buy the cover from Toyota (part# 88548-0K010) and the filter is the same size as a Camry which is a lot cheaper, there are threads about the mod in the newhilux forum ;)
