2010 Toyota Hilux coolant

Aluminium radiator with plastic tank? Prob cracked plastic or broken seal. Do NOT drive, tow or take radiator to shop for repair. Obey all advice given-it may save you a motor which costs much more. 2010? check cam belt replacement, if due also replace water pump, thermostat and ALL hoses, inc the in cabin ones you cant see. NB use correct coolant-Colour is NOT a guide with OAM coolants. If you pay to have it done, get someone to check that it's done propperly. Esp the in cabin hoses. If one leaks, you're in big trouble. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

Bit more info needed bub. Spurts out from where,!!!!!!!!!!!! Top of the tank !! Radiator neck !!! and what engine is in it. From what I can gather its either a a 3.0 lt 1KD-FTV diesel or 2TR-FE 2.7 petrol. The 2.7 by the way runs a timing chain, only the diesel has a belt.

If its only a weep and is being blown around by the fan, as long as its got coolant, there is nothing stopping you from using it to retrieve parts needed, leave the cap on the first notch. When its cold give it a good wash down to remove any trace of dried coolant as that red sh*t dries, and is a b*stard to remove, once dry, run it and watch and see where its originating from. Could only be the top hose, if theres no hose on that side you can rule that out, but as for New timing belt, water pump, every hose going, Jeez you might want to get a price on a new Diff as well :whistling:

it's 5 yrs old, must be abt 100,000km. it's coming due, and those jobs need doing abt then, or you risk cooling system failure. a few parts are cheaperand faster than an whole motor rebuild. cheap insurance IMO.
