Transmission problem?

Hi I have a 2002 Camry Advantage Auto 6 cylinder. First thing in the morning I'm experiencing something I think may be the transmission (I'm not a car person). When I have my foot on the brake I feel like the clutch slips a tiny bit, it's hard to describe. As I come to a stop, it'll happen once or twice then not again until I start and stop again. It'll mostly do it when I'm stopped with foot on the brake, but I also feel like it does it occaisionally while I'm driving. But only within the first 10 minutes on a cold morning. Is this a thing? Is it anything to worry about? If I need to get it looked at would I take it to a transmission specialist?

Cheers,

Chris.

I agree, take it to an expert.

It is very common for any automatic to slip when its cold due to the oil level being low. Even .5 of a liter can present problems. This happens because the oil is low when it is cold, but as it heats up it expands and can then reach a level where the unit will often operate normally until it cools down again, eg overnight.

ALWAYs seek advise when an automatic transmission slips in any shape or form. Its is very easy to burn out a multi-clutch in a few minutes if allowed to slip even for a short time ( a few minutes can be enough)

Regards

Pete :D
