Transponder Chip ID and Remote programming instructions

Abhi

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Glad to be a part of this forum.

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry altise. I bought it recently and the previous owner gave me only one set of remote and a single master key.

I went to Terry Shield Toyota and they quoted me $113 for remote + key and another $66 for programming it, totaling around $180.

Want to check in this forum if anyone has had similar issue and if anyone can help me in identifying the transponder chip ID so that I can get it off ebay.

Also, if you can help me with remote programming instructions, that will be of great help.

My VIN number is 6T153BK360X056642

Thanks, Abhi.

Suggest you accept the $180.

I paid a local locksmith $120 for a spare ignition key with transponder chip for my 2006 Aurion. I cannot recall the sequence to program the key but it involved opening/closing the driver's door and boot a few times. I also picked up a remote from local wreckers and I have not yet tried to program it with the attached instructions.

Overall $180 will save you a lot of messing around and you will be guaranteed that it will work.

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for the reply.

I already have a new remote with me which I bought from ebay and tried to follow the same steps to program it but no success. Then went to Toyota to find out if they can let me know the steps for free, but they are demanding $66 for programming.

As you suggested, I will think of buying it from Toyota to have peace of mind.

Regards,

Abhi.
