Hey all,

woke up this morning to go for a drive only to find my car missing! My corolla has been stolen! However all is not lost, the kind theives left me with my rear-triangle window glass and the remains of the tint. So a BIG thanks for that.

My car is a 2005 Black Toyota Corolla Sportivo (stock)

Registration TMI590

It was stolen in Fitzroy, Melb, near the corner of Nicholson St and Johnson St overnight (Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning)

If anyone sees it pleasepleaseplease let me know, any help or sightings would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Aidan

Dude sorry to hear about that. Hopfully your insurance will be quick when making a claim.

what??? they removed the rear glass? wtf

Posted

i s'pose they thought it would be the cheapest way to get into the car. instead of smashing the drivers window they just smashed the rear one

and also less obvious when driving away

funny thing is the quarter glass costs more to replace than the side windows.

what i dont get is how they got to unlock the car from that window

Hope it get's found all in one piece, but be prepared to have the police tell you they've found your car as a stripped shell.

Chances are it's already stripped.

Sorry mate that's really bad.

sh!t man :o no good, no good at all.

I remember a mate sending me a link to a video (u tube or something) about how to start a corolla without the keys. He sent it as a warning to be carfull. I tried the link and it had been taken off. I had never thought much of it...... now i am a bit worried. :(

Personally id prefer the insurance rather than getting back a thrashed car.

Did you have an alarm?

I was under the impression that the factory immobiliser was hard to crack at least by the average joe bloggs.

TMI590 , i'll keep an eye out for ya. I"m a little bit freaked out that ppl can steal such a modern car - purely by removing the rear quarter glass? T_T

It's so expensive becuase these rear quarter glasses are made in Australia $_$ - maybe Pilkington make them?

Maybe a cruel warning for ppls to start installing motion sensor spot lights in their driveways and gardens - I always park the Goose in front of a sensor

(-_-);; but i guess it's based on the theives determination. :( Sorry for your loss dude. Go for the insurance claim. <--IMHO - SHe won't feel the same when u recover it anywayz :( x 2
