air cap cleaner

on my recall letter it states this is to be replaced.

Is this a part of the STOCK air box? which wont be there due to CAI.?

bloke @ penrith told me everything needs to be by the book and suggested i should remove the cai.

also said he has been instructed to take note of modifications..

my guess is they are very reluctant to do the recall so anyone with a possible warranty voiding modification will be noted and possibly further action taken.

Its the top part of the air box, and must be changed as it contains a less restrictive air port.

mike don't worry man.

you own the car and they can't stop you from modding it. as checked with customer rep TRD parts are under warranty.

this trd thing is not 100% as all toyota places say different things... so please make sure with you service or other, and not just take word of mouth. As ive been told since trd is made for jap spec it doe not allow you to keep your warranty, if the part u modded effected the part in question.

i was told by toyota australia, the customer relations unit that it is under warranty. It is not just made for jap spec as most of the parts that fit our cars are made in america anyhow by trd usa -

if the toyota dealer is giving you the run around tell them to ring head office as all are governed by toyota aus. not their own little government.

It is your car you bought it

If you choose to modify it you can. if your dealership are not happy then it is their problem.

any other parts other than TRD are not covered.
