my girlfriend is currently running 19s with no guard work and no problems with scrubbing even with 4 people in the car, the car is running tein super streets set as low as possible too. she was running 20s for about 6 months but couldn't turn to full lock and the ride quality was **** house.

Yes yes I know dude. Coilovers set as low as possible? I remember Brian didn't even have his set as low as possible, and it was like 90mm off the ground (running 205/55/R16's on the stock Sportivo rims) and he was scrubbing like hell. I don't know how this can be lol.

Personally the 18's give better balance in terms of having 'biggish rims' on the corolla. They actually look like they belong on there.

19's (I'll try and dig up a pic of the infamous 'NATAS' from Canberra) make the Sportivo look like a toy car with over sized wheels imo.

From this photo, I can't see how you can have a set of TEIN SS's set at the lowest setting with 19's. It defies logic. Unless of course you do some extensive guard and liner work

Plus, I think it makes the car look really stupid lol.

I think he accidently pressed the 9 instead of 0. Should be saying his girlfriend is running on 10's

It happens when you get nervous while typing I guess?

GO with 18's otherwise you will regret it or even smaller as the fellas have mentioned. My Rolla rides on 18's but it also rides on $4000 suspension (DMS Coilovers) so if you’re serious about putting her on skates be warned, you will need VERY good sussy. As I mentioned above they don't come cheap!

My Rolla runs happily on 18's and almost stock suspension. Just the addition of some King lows sets it apart from factory standard. She's not as low as i'd like her. But a happy medium for everyday use.

Its not slammed, but far from a monster truck....

i love it how so many on this site claim to know everything but really know sweet FA. so for bigbum and all the other no nothings heres a few pics and feel free to come have a look in person if your on the southern end of the gold coast. you should be able to see the super streets set as low as possible and 19s fitted (shock horror).

rob was right it does make the car look like its fake... Like one of those stupid dub cars u get from toyshops. 19's just look stupid they are way way too big. That ride quality and handling must be non existant.

So where's the photo's of the 20's then?

the reason there is so much ground clearance is because it is parked on the drive way which is a uneven slope and as for pics of the 20's ill see if she has kept any photos we dont post pics of our cars on the internet due to the theft of 1 of car and a few of my mates cars that were posted in a members rides sections of another site, so therefore no need to take pics.

the reason for going 19s is because corollas are never going to be a fast sports car so who cares how much weight it adds and also the car is full of dynamat and car audio gear which added alot more weight than a 1 or 2 inch difference in wheels.

ride quality is as good as when she had 17s and cheaper coilovers bought 2nd hand of some one on this forum.

Man i ran 19"s ages ago heaps of ppl on this forum would remember my mine was the one with the booster kit on the back....I ran the Lenzo modify's in 19X8 and had no issues with them.... i also ran a set of Apexi coilovers and lowered the car quite a bit and had no issues still....i'll email ya some pics if you like....

BUT...

Stick with the originals with some good rubber and you'll be WAY WAY WAY ahead.... put the extra mony into some suspention work (lower it an inch or two and use stiffer springs on the ****) mate thats all the car needs to be turned into a weapon.....along with the better rubber your car will be very fast....then save up some more and put in an lsd

19x8,5 team dynamics drifz. Would it be too wide, is that 8" _max_? What should the offset be in front? back?

And with those rims i would probably go for 215/35 tyres, if they will fit.. :)

19x8 - 215/30/R19

That is the absolute largest you would want to go.

Look I'm not saying that putting 19's or even 20's on a corolla is impossible here, but your handling, ride, and even ability to accelerate more is diminished so much.

Big wheels can look awesome (I personally am a fan of 16's 17's with around a one inch gap between the edge of the tyre to the guard (this can give the illusion that it's actually lowered more than 1 inch if you measure it this way. I think this just looks pure JDM track car pwnage yO).

Big wheels kill handling dynamics. Period. Simple physics back this up, but like I said, personal preference.

Some people make a big sacrifice on their cars just to get it to look good.
