Got the below instruction from another forum, can it be applied to the Sportivo?

Here's a write up from another owner...

Ok. I disconnected the reverse beep by piecing together a number of sketchy threads with instructions. I thought it might help to have detailed instructions for all new XRS/GT owners and those that have yet to disconnect it.

Here we go:

What you will need: Phillips Head Screwdriver, Wire Cutter, Electrical Tape

1) Pull off the black rings that cover the gauge piece. Just pull and wiggle a little bit and it should come right off.

2) Once the rings are off, unscrew the phillips head screw above the gauges, it is located at top dead center.

3) After removing the phillips head screw, pull off the plastic piece that covers the gauges. It easily pops off by pulling at the bottom of it (there are two clips at either side that hold it in at the bottom). Popping off this piece will allow access to the two clips holding in the gauge piece at the bottom east/west of the gauge piece. Don't try to remove the plastic piece, it wont come out.

4) Now you need a second person to hold up the plastic gauge cover to provide easy access to unclip the two clips holding in the gauge piece. It should unclip easily if you have the aforementioned easy access.

5) Once unclipped, push the gauge piece back so that you can turn it over and slide it half way out (half way is all you need in order to unclip the white wiring harness attached to the gauge piece).

6) Once half way out, unclip the white wiring harness attached to the gauge piece (it is the only wiring harness attached).

7) After unclipping the wiring harness, flip it over. The fifth wire from the right is a red wire with a thin black stripe. There is only one red wire with a thin black stripe so just look for that one.

After finding that red wire with the thin black stripe, cut it.

9) After cutting it, cover the two cut ends with electrical tape.

10) Then reattach the wiring harness to the gauge piece.

11) Put the gauge piece back in by flipping it back over and clipping it back in.

12) Put the plastic cover back on the gauge piece.

13) Put the phillips head screw back in at top dead center.

14) Put the black gauge rings cover back on.

You're Done! The whole process should take 5 minutes.
