Hey just wondering has anyone ever come across a car that is slow to get oil pressure when standing for long periods.

that depends on how long it was sitting for. what happens is the oil drains out of the oil pump and has nothing to use to seal it when you fire up the engine. the best idea is to start the engine every week or so and let it idle for a while. this should stop it happening.

Yes, regular starting, preferably every day will help. One problem mine had was that the oil pump nut/impellor was put on backwards on the shaft, apparently this is quite common, you still get enough pressure usually, just not up to specification. Mine had what was supposedly a fully guaranteed (3yr warranty) rebuilt engine. Now that the nut is right oil pressure is good.

Also sometimes aftermarket oil sensors for the warning light read differently to the genuine Toyota part.
