is this normal for Toda fly?

i've just had my flywheel and clutch replaced a couple of weeks ago (finally!). exedy heavy duty clutch kit & toda lightweight flywheel (1zz)

and i'm not sure if its sposed to feel this way..

it does wind up a little quicker and the torque has been met halfway, but this was expected

but the clutch feels like my old worn clutch. if feels like it rides a fair bit, and off the mark it feels like its not grabbing.

i know the flywheel is lighter and due to less inertia, the clutch slows it down a lot quicker. but it doesnt feel like its grabbing and engaging well.

does anyone else feel this? is this normal? i dont know whether theres been much improvement at all

what could be the problem and do you guys think i should have it re-checked?

try a bit of moderate clutch dumping/sidestepping and if it doesn't brake traction then maybe it needs to be readjusted....or maybe they need some to wearing into since its new??.........But I'm pretty sure everytime I drive a car that has a new clutch, I always drive it gently so I don't chirp it every single time I take off.

Where's the take-up point in the pedal travel?

You're meant to take it easy for the first 500km.

lol .... beat me to it jase ..... please tell me mate u didnt jump in the car straight after getting it done performing 5K rpms dumps singing "hey i got a new clutch" ...... if so ur screwed from the beginning ......

i have been going easy on the clutch as advised by my mechanic. its done more than 1000km now

i havent felt much friction point and even when it was fresh it wasnt really noticable, not even like the stock clutch when the car was new. its like the clutch has softer than its ever been.

the friction point (barely noticeable) is maybe 30% from the top of the pedal if that makes sense.

i never dump it at 5k. i've dropped it once or twice in the past week its been raining, no more than 3500rpm

is there also a way to make the clutch pedal feel firmer? like adjusting the pedal assembly somehow?

did he take it for a drive after he installed it to make sure everything was all good? i would make him fix it, it might be something as simple as a clutch adjustment but might be better to take it to a clutch specialist..

      The amount of oil that will bring the oil level from the lower dot on the dipstick to the higher dot is only 500 ml. The engine oil sump takes about 9.5 litres of oil in total. When the level is at the lower mark, this means that the engine has 9 litres of oil remaining. Basically not a big deal at all for the oil level to be at the low mark.

      Average Fuel consumption display

      Hi Chris, Have tried many combinations of buttons on our "Faye" too no avail mate, so I have no idea if you can reset the display for fuel consumption. I know on refilling it goes up greatly as air has entered the tank and comes down fast when driving any distance, so I don't bother much I just keep an eye on it and when it gets up around 11L/100klm as most of our outings is local 50kph zones, I take Faye out and try to go for a 80/90 kph run and it comes back down to around the usual 8 L/100 - 9 L/100klm.       2020 Camy Hybrid EV battery problem.

      Hi All, i have an odd problem with the EV battery. First time it happened was 2 months ago, the car felt like it was holding back when coasting and the brake pedal was hard then soft and the EV battery was taking a long time to charge to even 4 bars on the dash, normally I can get it to 4-5 bars all day long no problem. The engine was starting way more than usual, even on takeoff as soon as i touched the accelerator, and even when i did get 4 bars it would be gone in 200m or so. I'm an Uber driver so i have learnt how to get the best out of the system, AVG 3.9 klm/L. This went on for 4-5 days i booked it in to Toyota and the day before it went in i was on a freeway onramp and had to brake for a corner and the brake pedal pulsated after that the car was back to normal in fact was running better than ever! Took it to the dealer anyway, no codes nothing. So yesterday it started doing the same thing. Battery taking way longer to charge, strange brake pedal etc. i even took it down a long 1klm hill and got the battery up to 5 bars and used EV mode on a dead flat road and within a few hundred meters it was down to 3 and the engine kicked in. Car has 70000 klm on it. Anybody got any ideas? P.S battery filter is clean and i have the A/C directed at the intake under the back seat.

      Reverse sensors - how to disable

      Hi there, This is my first post! We bought a 2004 Kluger recently. Lovely car, very happy. . But... the beeping reverse sensor is driving me insane! Rather than being helpful, it actually distracts me when reversing, which I think is dangerous. How do I disconnect it? Or can I turn it down to stop being so effin' piercing?! Always been a Toyota chickiebabe. Epic cars.
