I recommend you get on supraforums.com.au & find out what you can there. A lot of ppl there have done it, I think. Anyway ur bound to get a lot of info. from them. Try search first though.

I've imported my Skyline from Japan last year. It all went well.. I won a car at an aution for 16k, paid it and then 2 months later it was in Australia. After that, I had to do the usual - take it over the pits, put it on my name etc..

There are HEAPS of importers, some just specialise in importing specific makes. I'd probably suggest looking at the forums that Hots suggested.. and also, pick up a copy of HPI magazines, great read and give you heaps of ads of importers.

ALSO - just came to me..

You could probably google, for example, 'supra imports importers melbourne' and I'm sure there will be heaps of importers who have some already landed.

try the guys from phoenix imports, (if your in melb)

they let you search the auctions and they give all details about the cars, eg damage, paint, body, repaired, ect, ect,

they compliance and every thing.

website: phoeniximportsaustralia.com

give them a try, i'm sure even if your not from melb they can ship it to you

i was gonna import an evo7 from them, the car was about $17,000 and would cost about $25,000 - $28,000 on the road..

but then i decided to buy a '02' corolla...

saving for the evo 9.... :)

oh yea forgot to tell you...

don't buy any imported car from North Japan....

cause it snows in the north, and in japan they put SALT on the roads to melt the snow....

nothing worse then a rusty car....
