engine probs

I was on my way to work this morning and all of a sudden the car starts jerking and spluttering, then it corrected itself so I thought nothing of it. But it happened more fequently to which I realised the orange tap (check) light was on then my oil, battery and almost all my lights went on, on my dash. Then once that happened i had no power at all then it would die. I would then turn the key it'd work for a while then do it over and over again. I eventually stop start stop started all the way back to my parents place to borrow another car etc...

I was wondering whether it was a battery or injection problem? I know I need a tune up but would that have caused this to happen?? Please help as I'm not at all familar with injection engines. Its a 1992 csi corolla if that helps.

Thanks in advance I hope someone can shed a bit of light on the subject for me.

i take it the car is fuel injected so possibly run a diagnostic check?

if nothing shows up there i would say fuel problems..fuel pump, injectors etc..

That was my thoughts too... however as it turns out it was a busted dissy. Which caused the injectors "foul". Once the new dissy was put in it and a injector cleaner was applied right as rain.

Back on the road cruising better then ever now.
