Where is the remote receiver on a 1998 Camry
Hi Herb, it's very simple fob, just for central locking and unlocking. It has nothing to do with immobilizer or starting the car. See below actual photos how it looks like. Now the old battery is out and it does not work with new CR2032 either. There is no visible damage to the circuit board or battery pins. Hard to find out somebody with same fob around Bunbury/Perth, I would like to try it out... -

Hi Martin, What exactly does or doesn't your remote do? If you can unlock and get into the car, but it doesn't start, that could be that RFID chip. We had that happen once, after I replaced the worn out case, with the silicon buttons with a new case. I didn't realise about that chip. Herb -

Hi Herb, thanks for reply. I reckon this shouldn't be the case. Upper image is a original fob for Camry and if battery gone dead the only option is to go to dealer and buy a new fob for 100$. And you can also pair multiple (up to 4 fobs) to a car. The fob from Corolla (lower image) you can open and change batteries easily. As I mentioned in previous comment, it was recongised by the car (in a strange way) but finally does not work. It looks like to me that Integration Relay is OK since it recognsied the Corolla fob and the issue will be the original fob. Probably the button is gone or I don't know what else in the circuit board. Will try to measure it today if it is sending the signal. -

Hi, I don't know if Toyota does this, but other makes have little RFID chip in the fob, separate to the electronics, which somehow validates the fob. Using a fob from a different car, even if the same model, may not work, because of this. Herb -

Where is the remote receiver on a 1998 Camry
Hi legends, I recently bought Camry 1999, and I'm trying to repair everything I can. Car came with one fob (famous unbreakable thingy, with button cover gone and flat battery of course). I have managed it to open and I choose the way to put the battery out of the pins - done, without breaking it. I bought CR2032 and put it into a place. Nothing, nothing happens while programming mode activated. Battery is in contact and button seems to be working fine (you can hear clicking). Then I simply gave up and tried to looking for new Integration Relay... one day I met bloke explaining him what am I after and he told me he has 1 fob at home but its from Corolla. OK let's give it a try. I set car into programming mode and after the procedure 3x on/off, etc... I got flashers slowly blinking but only 2 times. I started to getting happy 🙂 but at the end Corolla fob does not work at all, but at least I got some response from car... Any ideas? I want to avoid buying a new fob for 100$... Cheers! Martin -

Toyota estima raised suspension
I love to know if he find the solution to raise his estima too. I can only manage to raise the rear of my 2008 estima with airbag installed, the front still low though. -

Toyota Landcruiser problems
Ah yes . Oh what a reaming..... Toyota.!! I had an aftermarket electric tailgate opener fitted $1500. Closes the door from inside and out. Mines a vx. Reverse sensors only turn off with toggle with "car and witches hat" on 300. They stay off till switched back on. I put my keys in the door pocket.the jingling almost drowns out the squeaking of the middle seats I sent a hand written registered letter personally addressed to the CEO of Toyota Australia and he did not have the decency to reply. Emails go ignored Toyota Lack of Customer Experience centre inept and uneducated regarding the legislation they are required to operate under. At least the 300 here didn't have the 3.5 TT petrol. Are you listening Toyota.??? NEVER AGAIN
