1989 Camry help!

Recommended Posts

hey all, apologies if this has been asked a thousand times before...

I recently bought a 2nd hand '89 Camry. Which is running great.

there's one small and annoying problem. the immobilizer seems to randomly stop me starting the car sometimes. I get in, and start the car quickly, and it won't start. the electrics all kick in (lights, radio etc) but the starter motor won't turn over. if i wait well over 5 mins it seems to start.

the first time it happened i thought it was because i sat in the car for a fair few minutes before starting it, but now it randomly happens.

is it the immobilzer? or something to do with the starter motor?

Help would be massively appreciated. thanks all.
