Nothing, I just call it MR-S as it's the real JDM name of the car.

welcome mate i wonder if u can put a 2zz on the back sexy ride

Yes you can.

It's a fairly popular engine conversion in the US and Japan but it's not done here because not only do you need a 2ZZ, you need a 6-speed gearbox (which is not available in Australia) to replace the SMT gearbox (SMT doesn't work well with a 2ZZ).

Does the Corolla/Celica box not fit?

I suppose the next option would be to look at what Lotus is using in the Exige.

I have no idea actually.

Most popular route in Australia to get more power from a MR-S is adding a turbo to the 1ZZ.

How's the SMT with the 1ZZ-FE?

It's okay. Upshifts are slower than you'd like but the downshifts are good.

Cool. I was expecting the other way around.

because the engagement is all electronically controlled with then SMT it's not quite that simple.

You need to basically do a complete auto-manual conversion including clutch, selector cables, shifter mechanism, a different shifter housing, etc.

The conversions performed before have all been on the JDM manual version of the MR-S with is way more simple a procedure.

Awesome ride! If you don't mind me asking.. how much did those Rays G-Games set you back?

$2100 for the wheels and the seller threw in the Rays dura-lugnuts in for free (the wheels actually come with black G-Games lugnuts).
