your opinion on an oil leak?

Recommended Posts

ok where would you guys think oil would be coming from if it leaks onto the middle of the intake manifold

then drips down onto the wires

but i cant really think where it can come from

i would say rocker cover gasket but thats just been replaced not long ago

Is that the oil pressure switch side..I have seen them bypass resulting in oil spray. Check core plugs for weeping

Its looks like the rocker cover gaskets to me,It may have been replaced but leaks do happen even after if its newly installed.

clean it up with degreaser & start all over again

but iv inspected the back of the rocker cover gasket and its not leaking...

From the angle of pikkie its looks like the leak is coming from the under the manifold & weeping progressively .. give a lil spray n wipe & check it again

Being a 3S, id be looking at the rocker cover gasket and dizzy o-ring first concidering that the leak is higher than that switch. I doubt it would be the head gasket as you would have noticed other signs such as coolant consumption.

There are several symptoms of a BHG, and not all of them have to present. Oil leaks, coolant leaks, oil consumption, coolant consumption, oil in the coolant, coolant in the water, loss of compression, etc etc. Most can be independent of each other, although it is common for several to present at once.

i found the leak

well see those to nuts?

those threads are threaded into the head

but they werent threaded in tight

so it was leaking through

so i took them out and put bit of silicon and tightened em back in

and all seems good so far

see if its gone in the morning

iv never heard of this happening before?
