My footbrake is ok as well after service.

The auto headlight is still ****. Turning on under the bridge. I suspect they bloody did nothing!

So do Lexus doing 110, I doubt you can fix it!

My car is all aligned now but magically they cant give/find the original alignment details......the printer was out of paper :(

All lexus and alot of toyotas have the auto light sensitivity too sensitive, if your ever driving behind one and go under a bridge, bang, their lights are on then off a few seconds later.

With the alignment, i got the printout which showed the alignment was way out, the car now feels like it pulls all the slightly to the left, they will say its out roads, i know it aint. I have constantly checked the wear and it is fairing much better.

I cant wait until there are more choices of tyres available though.

I think there's something wrong with the whole thing. Whatever the sensitivity is, there is a setting for a delay between the sensor detects the dark and the lights are turned on. If it i set to say, 60 secs but the lights are still blinking inder bridges - there is no way it takes more than 60 secs to pass under the bridge ion M4 at 110! Some time ago I asked this delay to be increased from default - still no difference!

Hope Toyota will have it fixed.

Another complaint

Had alignment done less than 3 months, couple of thousand ks only, and once again, the front left wheel is feathering...its also pulling slightly to the left

No kerb hits, to damage from me, or wife, unbelievable toyota.

Whats their head office number, im not paying $88 every 2-3months for alignment!!!!!!

I am very happy with the even wear I am getting on my KXR 2wd 7 seater, with 45,000km on the clock, the majority of which has been on sealed outback roads with some gravel roads. Toyota have rotated the tyres only twice in that time.

I run the pressure at 38-40 all round and generally carry the missus and our camping stuff including lots of water and beer.

At the last service at 42,000 the report says there is still 5mm left on all tyres (except the spare which I havent used yet).... not too sure what that measurement means but I am hoping to get 60,000km out of the set. The centre tread section has lost its pattern.

Does anyone know what depth the tyres are when new, and what depth are the tyres "worn out" (or that the wear inicators show up at) in other words what percentage have I used up?

see, your kxr has different tyres, so its plausable that it wears ok on the 17" ones. These 19's are great but im not driving hard, virtually no offroad as yet, not even 15k's and at this rate, its going to be work on one side by 20k's! Not good enough for $500 tyres. Even if the tyre was $100 i would still be concerned, i cannot afford $1000 pair of tyres every year nor do i want to pay $88 to get alignment every 3 months, thats outrageous.

I will call them tomorrow and see if there is a problem, especially when i havent been hitting kerbs etc, i expect it to stay true.

Well, toyota have been kind enough to redo the alignment, they also want to do it again as the manual tells them a different toe compared to some other reference they use. back in again this week for ANOTHER alignment to see...

Also found out whilst i was at bob jane that 22" with tyres, about $3000, but the tyres were only around $300 each! They would look good.....265/35/22!

True!

You have got a definite problem then!

Been and done another alignment, still dead on, so was refered to bridgestone, they double checked this, said it was all spot on.

They can only conclude there is a fault which is machanical rather than alignment for the wear that is going on here.

I just want normal wear!

I have just had my wheels checked because of the thread on this forum and I had noticed some slight feathering on the outside of the front tyres. The local Toyota Dealer (I didn't purchase the car from them) gave me a complimentary wheel alignment at Bridgestone.

They found that both the front and rear wheels were out of alignment! Must of been that way since it came from the factory as I have only just done 6000ks on my AWD.

I am happy I found out early and pleased that the Toyota Dealership was more than helpful.

Yes, thats what happened with mine, as i was checking it and at 9k, 3mths old, they said its normal to need aligning this model every 6 months, i told them what i thought of it. Unfortunately even though the alignment has been done, my issue continues, they are awaiting feedback from head office technical support. Wheel alignment done multiple times, the truth i reakon was in the figures given, if anyone has their alignment printout, tell us here what the Camber for the front wheels are.

They are meant to be factory -0"38' (+ or -) 0"45'. therefore quite a broad range.

Mine since the begining has been set for the left front wheel, the main culprit, at between -1"20' and -1"35', therefore according to all the tyre people in this world, this feathering should not occur and if it was set at the factory specs, my situation would be far worse.

To me, since the front right is set at -0"50', it seems even from the manufacturer, they are aware of the issue and compensate somewhat for this by having a great negative camber, to reduce the wear....

Not good enough JAN!

And its not even driving anywhere as hard as i would have in a sedan or my little barina sri! I would definitely scrub these tyres in weeks rather than years!.

If anyone has their camber, let us know what yours is set at(19" wheels only, so KXS and Grande models) as it seems noone with 17" KXR has an issue that i know of.

Is it normal to have wheel balancing weights on a brand new kluger? My wheels have quite a few. I would have thought these would go over time and not from the very start.

I agree must be inconsistent tires The rims should be balance spot on from new

To date still no resolution to the excessive front left outside wear.

Anyone else having problems? Has it been fixed? Im looking at the 2nd replacement and the cars barely done 19k's!

At 1000km's i was getting feathering of the front right outside tyre. Took it back to dealer for wheel alignment. Still only 1500km's and will see over time weather it is an ongoing problem. Hope not.

<_< I think it worthwhile to keep nagging the Toyota Service. The 17's on my car are wearing a little more in the middle than on the rest of the tyre (I've now got 33Ks). The service mgr tells me that because of the high sidewalls, the tyres tend to roll / deform more when cornering than a normal car tyre. I can accept that but not sure about why they wear more in the middle. Wheel alignments are a bit of an art, I'd suggest going to a suspension specialist rather than the Toyota dealer if you continue to have problems

Thats the point, its not even 1 yr old, toyota should fork out to investigate this thoroughly, in the mean time, provide alternate transport, and fix the darn thing.

I love the drive, love the car, just too bad about this issue which has been the only major problem i have.

Saving? Cheaper to get those toyo's i think they are just over $300 each...

capali - hopefully not

Hey if your 17"s are wearing in th emiddle, normally this is caused by too higher pressure in your tires! Try a lower pressure, although, im running 40psi to keep rolling to a minimum....might have to upgrade to 17's to save on costs, and get long wearing MUD TERRAin stuff...lol

Certainly sounds like a defect. 19 inch tyres should get a lot more mileage than 17 inch assuming similar compound as there is more rubber. Softer compound should give similar to 17 inch. There's nothing wrong with 17 inch wheels so if I get this problem I may consider upgrading to 17 inch too. But this defect should be addressed by Toyota. I've only done about 1,400km so far so I'm yet to see anything unusual. I would expect to get at least 40,000km (hopefully over 60,000km) from a set of 19" tyres as I do not take my Kluger to the race track. Kluger is almost 2,000kg so you can't really expect to get the same tyre wear as a sedan but 20,000km tyre change is ridiculous.
