AE101 clutch replacement.

Hey all.

my clutch is on the way out.

my AE101 (97) has done 217000km and my clutch is just starting to slip.

ive altered my driving style alot to deal with it (changes @ lower rpm)

i have no idea of pricing or anything of new clutches + installation, but i have heard installation on FWDs is the killer, what can i expect?

is around $1000 an average ballpark figure based on a fairly stock clutch?

im looking to sell it in a few months, but the the re-sale value of a new clutch + the new radiator, new battery, cold air intake, and upgraded fuel pump that i already have installed would be significant.

so for the resale value that i can get from the new clutch(+ other mods), is it worth me installing the new one?

because its getting fairly bad of late.

also keep in mind that i bought carol (my car's name) for 4,200 so obviously i would sell for more than that due to its immaculate condish.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll be looking anywhere upwards from $300 to get the clutch installed...

Buy one yourself as cheap as possible and you'll save some cash...

Toyota dealer or similar will charge around $1000 including the clutch...

It's worth installing a new one especially if you wanna sell the car as you'll get buyers wanting to knock off $1000 if the clutch is stuffed...

And honestly, you won't get all the money back that you've spend on the car... Average prices for your car are around 4 - 6 grand...

yeh agreed...

anything over 4 and i will be satisfied.

i think even 6 is a tad ambiguous.
