im curious to know what the sideways freeplay of the brake pedal is like for other gen 5.5 camry owners?

and is there anyway to adjust it? mine seems to move around 1.5-2cm, or is this normal?

i know how to change the freeplay when depressing the pedal, just not sideways movement. i've had a quick look under the console, and it seems there isn't any sort of adjustment in the support bracket or the push rod that goes into the brake booster.

any thoughts? possibly fatter pedal bushes?

cheers!

Good question. :D Looking forward to seeing if this is normal.

Shouldnt be a problem my hg premier, rx7, and astra all had sideways play.

My Sportivo has a lot of sideways freeplay also.

I have taken it to Toyota on numerous occassions, they could not fix and said its normal.

The same sort of freeplay is in the Auto Shifter also, it just moves around and round. It is not firm like my Accord Euro.

I have the sideways "action" happening with the brake too... was the same in my last Camry too.

My shifter doesn't move however? Mind you, mine's slightly different to others though.
