here's whitestivo with the last round of mods.

My thanks to Sb and SuperDave for endless guidance and assistance.

My wife was driving the car down the hill towards me this morning, if i didn't know it was a sportivo, i would have had no idea what it was, looking a treat. and if you ask, the wife likes the grill with the big yota badge so it got to stay.

happy wife, happy modifying

Hi Phil,

Big Gav here. How do you find the lows/superlow combo for getting around now? I wasn't really into doing the springs, but if Kings work well, I will consider it.

Don't worry about the grill, I will be keeping my stock grill too, although I am considering colour coding the honeycombe, but not sure about that as yet.

What intake did you have again?

Cheers, Gav.

I went with lows on both ends. I can understand why ppl put superlows on the back, as it's still not looking lowered at the back (it was very high originally). However.. there always is... the superlows have an increased spring rate over the lows, and will destroy your shocks a lot quicker.

They will pick up more holes in the road and crash through. They will also lower car further, and this is my daily drive for my wife and I.

If you are going superlows, then you got to get shocks as well, and then your way over $1000 for shocks.

I think the car looks tops sitting little lower in the front, and after being to the track, I like the idea of having more weight over the fronts as this is where the the brakes are important. The TRD badge just went on, so looking tricked up nicely now.

Thanks mate. I might have to go for another test drive in your car to check the springs out if you'll let me.

I was really imrpessed with your TRD intake too, although I am considering CES given the current exchange rate...

Cheers, Gav.

  • 3 months later...

shot from latest round of QR track day

dropped my time from 1.09 to 1.05, and as far as i know (and can read), that is the fastest sportivo around qr on street tyres(sd?)

so i'm pretty happy. and best of all i stuck it to plenty of the honda boys, which was my goal.

your 2zz deserves to go to the track, on the road is such a waste.
