This may sound harsh but it seems to be common-sense:

1. Live your own life. Don't hang in the shadow of your mother. She should know better. (Move out if it's really an issue).

2. If you don't want to be at uni, then don't be there. Go get some skills in the workforce (which is what many other people have done and they've turned out more than fine).

3. If your mother continually comes back to invade your life, tell that bitch to **** OFF, otherwise you'll be the one with an AVO against her.

4. Look after YOURSELF.

Like I said, it sounds harsh, but if you're feeling that way then something needs to be done.

I really feel suicidal, losing hope on myself.

So, I failed three subjects (Out of four subjects.) in Curtin international College this term.

Me being the honest person (I'm the type that hates to lie.), told my mother about my results & apologize. She just blew off, like as if its the end of the world. I'm not saying that failing uni is a good thing (I'm disappointed in myself too.).

.....

As much as I want to try even harder to at least pass my diploma units, or even better, get good grades, I'm starting to lose hope.

I wished I have a normal life like other people in the world.

I read through the all the experiences & suggestions in this thread and appreciate it.

.....

I have deferred, so I wouldn't be back till February next year.

What a massive turn around in a period of 24 hours. From thoughts of "suicide" to deferal.

Corolla Sportivo03's harsh but common sense points should be taken on board - possibly light heartedly?

You are going to out live your parents (hopefully), and when they move on, who else will there be to impress?

It's quite obvious your family wants what they think is best for you. Time for a chat with parents conveying what you want out of studies, and acknowledge your parent's intrests in what they feel is "best for you". No point clashing heads everytime you make a decision you feel is right for yourself and the parents not seeing what you want.

We can't live in the best interests of our parents forever.

If you don't like it, Change it. If you can't, Move. If you can't move, Fight.

If you lose, Learn.

Don't feel sorry or sad about failing. Just never let it happen again.

Finally, a corny poster & Quote:

Always set the trail, never follow the path

Kudos to you Allister & all members for all your support

I briefly worked as an ambo attendent two years back (to follow a family tradition of medical types) & have seen the result of suicide, this one like many others had been a lonely death.I am glad this is getting resolved & i thank you for venting your frustrations & taking on the members opinions.

There are plenty of positives you can take back from this & let it be shown the TOCA isnt just a car club of sorts but a support group

Take care Al & hope to catch up with all on the Nov night Cruise

You really make me laugh mate, although it seems to me you'd be more at home driving a Hilux ute with a couple of pig dogs in the back than a Sportivo :P
