hey gys.. jst wanted some ideas?

i installed and soldered my after market deck into my car.. as i went to switch on the car..

it wuldnt start and made a clicking noise then the alarm of the car sounded hwever it went off in a sort of low tone sound..

i dc the ACC, batt and ground wires of the deck hwever no change.. i used jump leads to start the car thinkin it may of drained the batt

and again no luck.. the batt i tested and it had full battery.. i think its 2 do wit the alarm sumhow not allowin power to the

motor not quite sure.. hwever any idea on what the prob is and hw to fix it?

btw this is the 3rd deck ive installed in this car.. only diff is this time i took out the -ve terminal of the engine battery and instead of connecting the ground wire of the deck to the ground wire of the car ..i connected it to the metal body of the car via a screw..

sorry just read your other posts

try tightning the batt terminals

if there not your problem maybe you cut the wrong wire (on a toyota thats pretty hard but i suppose still posible)

Not sure, but I know with select models of fords and holdens they have security on the factory headunit. When installing you wound need to enter the security code. If this is the case, it will either be in the owners manual or you can ring toyota.

yeah but that doesnt effect the cars starting and if it does it will crank ok and wont start or just wont do anything at all

but if the car clicks but wont turn over that normally has something to do with a lack of power getting to the starter motor if you have a multimeter on hand you could check the voltage at the batt 12.4v is good then if you have some1 that can turn the key in the ignition see if the voltage drops below 9v at the batt if it does

first remover wires from batt clean batt terminals and wires reconnect (correctly) and tighten (if theres movement in wires at battery not good conection)

if still no good check all grounds for corrosion and security

if still no good check conections at starter

if still no good call an auto elec as it starts getting technical from there

thanks yeh... im gna have to i have tightened the batt and i did clean the acid residue off it.. i think sumhow the alarm is stoppin the motor from reaching power the cars reds turn on and th headlights and blinkers.. its jst went i start it it makes a single click noise ..watta pain.. auto electricians are heaps expensive.. ive installed 2 prev decks in this car and theyve wrked fine.. only diff is ive removed the -ve terminal of the batt wen wrkin wit the electrical wiring to ensure no malfunction..and ive used the metal body of the car as a connecter for the ground wiring of the deck as it says to do so in the instructions of the deck..

if your car has an alarm system thats your problem.

if u d/c the neg terminal, the alarm will go into a protect mode.

it is to stop theives d/c the neg terminal then ripping out your alarm and making off with your car.

consult your users man for your alarm.

do u know where i could download 1 of the net.. i never got a user manual or a key for the alarm in the motor..to disable or enable it..

without going into to much detail and dont write what type of alarm you have.

use google to find what type it is and try to get a manual from there.

i know with black widow alarms they have to be manually reset or dissconected then start the car, then turn it off then reccoonect the alarm.

i think its a stock alarm and was installed by the manufactorer problem is i never got the key for it (bought it used)..so i guess im going to have to

dc the alarm by cuttin the wiring..its a big problem cos now wheneva i want to do something regarding removing the -ve terminal of the battery this alarm needs 2 be diarmed via the wiring..

guess it needs replacing..

hi again guys..

ok prob a silly question but after installing my deck i realised it blew a fuse.. so i unhooked it (batt, ACC and ground), though i did leave the speaker connections in

and would like to get an idea of what it is i did wrong so on my next attempt not to repeat the previous mistake...

any ideas..p.s everything after soldered is taped up seperatly with insulator taping...
