good day,

i am intending to buy a 1993 3.0L V6 CAMRY WAGON and would like to have a rough idea on items to be replaced as soon as i get the car

being a newbie and not having good knowledge with cars, i reckon there are experienced members who could help me out on this.

for a start, the car has done 271 k and there is not much of a service history on it except that the owner had done a

- recent full service and check,

- new fan and power steering belt,

- oil and filter,

- fuel filter, air filter.

- new front tires and rear tires 70%

please advice on the following items that i intent to do and comment if more needs to be done and parts replaced

it would also be fantastic if you could provide me an estimation on how much it'll cost

- timing belt, (price including labour)

- air con re-gas (price including labour)

- wiper reservoir tank (price)

- iridium bosch spark plugs

- the recommended engine oil (brand & viscosity)

many thanks in advance!

Couple things. Do NOT use Bosch plugs on Toyota's. They don;t like them, lol. 2 friends with Camry's in January had Bosch plugs go bad. One of then had the porcelain crack causing a misfire.

2 other things are do a drain and fill on the transmission (If Auto), if the fluid looks dirty. And do a coolant flush.

If you goign to change the timing belt (recomended if you do not know when it was last done, see if there is a sticker on the timing belt cover), also replace the water pump, cam/crank pulley seals, and thermostate.

Other then that, everything else should be fine.
