ya firewall is behind ya engine(open bonnet look at windscreen and then look directly down and thats the firewall),also look for ya brake master cyl it usually goes thru the firewall.p.s i dont think ya should put an amp on ya firewall unless ya got plenty of room and its not on the engine bay side i hope, under the seats is a good place for amps.

As said above, the firewall is the steel wall between the engine bay, and the cabin (it is designed to stop possible fire from the engine bay killing you, hence, firewall)

Anyways.

The EASIEST way to run amplifier cable in an ST184 is to look for a cabling gromit/hole on the passenger side, at the very back of the engine bay... it is not on the firewall itself, its sort of in the wheel arch.

You can bring cables through that quite easily (I have 2 runs of 8 gauge and a run of 4 gauge through it on mine) and it comes out up under the glovebox on the passengers side, making the cable easy to get at.

As for the location of your amplifier...

If it is an amplifier for a sub woofer, then definitely put it in your boot. (I have mine mounted to the back of the back seats, good spot for it IMO.

If its for speakers, you could put it under the passenger seat, but personally I don't think this is a good spot for amps.... Think about the amount of cr*p that goes under your seats... It just dosen't seem like a safe home for some potentially expensive electronics.

I can take some pictures of my setup if you like to give you an idea of where you can run cables and so-forth.
